The idea that there isn’t another manager in the whole of world football who would have spent £400mn better, or who could do better than 19 defeats with this same squad is utterly bonkers to me.

With so many moving parts behind the scenes, perhaps it's the best move right now. If it's still going to st next season then they will make change for definite.
My thoughts too. With all the big changes behind the scenes and a few players leaving with new ones arriving, the last thing we need is a change of manager too. He’s got one year left in his contract, let him have next season and if it doesn’t work out then part ways.

Totally agree, seems like the only sensible option.

Not sure if you're aware, but the women play the game aswell, nowadays, and today, we play Chelsea, and if we take points off Chelsea, we may hand the title to Citeh.

Feels just like events in the men's game.

It really doesn’t work like that. Titles re won and lost over a season, not in a single game. That’s despite all the bleating from the Arsenal fans that the whole season was down to one miss by Son.

Who would you have Simon?
I know we’ve had this conversation previously, but from the list of candidates from the bookies, who would be your preference?

Is ETH in charge of the women also? Feck me, 0-5 down at half-time.

Nothing to play for? Loads of changes to the side?

I see that Brighton have announced that de Zerbi is leaving by mutual consent after tomorrow’s match against United. No mention of his next destination yet, although United and Bayern have been linked in various football gossip columns.

For me now , knowing what we know, I’d take Tuchel.

He’s clearly a far higher calibre manager than Ten Hag. He definitely comes with some reservations, and if I’m the club I’m going to want some assurances around him continuing our tradition of academy players etc.

But I think he’s perfectly capable of securing European football with this squad, and would be a fairly steady option for 2-3 seasons during which I’d be looking at how some of the more exciting young options progress. For example McKenna, Alonso, Nagelsmann, Amorim who has been mentioned previously, etc.

Fair enough.I’d rather him than Southgate or potter, but I think tuchel is toxic -look at his record.we’d have a great first season then it turns to st I’d bet…

Wonder if he has fallen out with the club? Not had a great season, and his statement seems all is not well.

Latest from MEN is that it is now unlikely that de Zerbi will be going to Bayern and that he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Has this been discussed anywhere?

Wonder who it is, I mean are there any high profile departures imminent?

I’m seriously unimpressed with what he has done at Bayern , they have some fantastic players and are pretty crap .

Yes Erik, you’re right. We’ve earned more kick-offs than any other season in the last fifty years. Progress indeed biggrin
Daft sod. We are in a better place in terms of carrying less high-wage passengers I suppose, and we’re going to be losing more in the summer transfer window so at least we’ve created space in the dressing room.
