Only the second time a ref has over ruled VAR this season I believe, I can’t see how that wasn’t hand ball, we deserved a point. Anyway, let’s hope that there are better times ahead, so glad to see the back of this season. Enjoy the Summer chaps, a few weeks of calm, stress free weekends is just what the doctor ordered.
Only seen it once but I'm relatively happy with that call. And god knows we've had some bad ones. Ball accidentally hits attacking players arm (by his side) who then passes, and a goal is scored.

I think the rules allow this? (Just not the goalscorer handling directly, which is a bit of an odd distinction I'll grant you). The rules are very muddy, with different criteria for forwards and defenders.

Those point deductions cost us £9.3m and 3 places. Would be a nice touch if all 3 benefitting clubs returned the cash (or donated to a Liverpool charity) - but I won't hold my breath.

Let's hope we have a strong squad come August. Club are prepping the fans to lose Onana and Branthwaite. I'd rather fail PSR than lose Branthwaite for less than £80m. (United ready to bid 50m ffs)

Rumoured to be 40m short by end of June, so hopefully just selling Onana would be enough (if that's how PSR works and we can credit the headline fee of say 50m as cash, which sounds wrong?)

Good to see us sign Gueye up for another year, can't be quite as skint as some doom mongers would have us believe. Yes, he's "free", but he's still on big(ish) money.

Barkley incoming on a free?

Adam.

It is smile

You bought him for £33M in summer 2022 on a 5 year deal.
That means the 33m was an asset in the balance sheet and you write off 33/5 per year against profit. You dont take the full 33M hit in year 1, instead you spread the acquisiton cost over life of the contract.
At the end of 5 years his cost is fully amortised and any sale proceeds are 100% profit (and 100% positive to PSR)

As of summer 2024 say you sell him for 50m.
You still have 3 years of amortisation to go, so that needs to be written off to P&L when he is sold.

P&L and PSR credit is - 50M less 33 x3/5 = 30.2M

If you paid agent fees etc that needs to be addd to the 33M

Didn't watch match of the day last night and avoided all sports radio and media today.

I'm hoping that by the middle of the week the alternating Kloop and City features, reports and general bks will have finished?

Branthwaite in the provisional England squad for the Euros. Hopefully the lad makes the final cut and I hope even more that he doesn't get sold in the summer.

I can’t see how we can keep him, we’ve been reduced to selling the family silver for years now and PSR has simply forced the issue.

The reality is you'll probably accept 50% of that, IMO.

Need to get a good bidding war going. Sealed "first and final" offers would be interesting but it will play out in the media over the summer. I'd like to think (hope!) south of £70m won't even be entertained. Potentially someone could grab a bargain due to our current state. 75m plus 10/15m in add ons I think, but he's worth more. If he was at Brighton with 4 years left on his contract it would be "100m + add ons, or go away".

Carlisle will get 12m if he goes for 80m (15% sell on, according to X). Life changing lottery win to them, and fair play to them.

Maybe we could have some of City's academy kids in return / part exchange / loan if he goes there? Would prefer he moved abroad. C'mon Real...

There's some fella called Lookman playing in the Europa cup final tonight. We could do with someone like him that can find the back of the net!

I wonder if we can get Harrison on loan again next season as Leeds didn't go back up? I quite like him, and a loan helps with our current financial pickle...

The stories about John Textor are gathering pace, I know little of him but he looks a better bet than 777, but that’s not saying much. I understand that their period of exclusivity ends this Friday, so hopefully we will see some activity.

He sounds promising, was reading some comments from a Botafogo fan yesterday, he seems happy with how their club is being run. It could lead to some interesting transfers from there via Lyon as well.

There seems to be talk of a few interested parties coming out of the woodwork. I've read that MSP could loan funds any shortfall in money whilst a takeover happens.

Hopefully we'll have some good news appearing over the next few weeks/months. We'll still be tied by PSR, but hopefully better days ahead

Pretty certain that 777 is dead now mate, there’s no way they can meet the conditions imposed on them by the PL and they’re fighting too many fires elsewhere. I don’t understand why Moshiri gave them such a generous period of exclusivity, but I guess we don’t even know half the story.

The Textor story does look genuine and his involvement with MSP would suggest a flexible deal could be struck, allowing him time to sell his Palace stake. I just want stability and certainty, hopefully Dyche will hang around and we can keep hold of a couple of our quality players. If that happens I think we will be in for a dull but stress free season.

Presented without context:

Context (I guess) is that we already have a LW

Can we afford to let Doucoure go, play McNeil down the middle and JH on the left? Ashley Young on the right wing, obviously. It's like whack a mole, solve one problem and another one pops up rofl Either that, or have a surplus in the 10 role (familiar territory)

The club seems to be bigging up their financial position. Hopefully genuinely...at least they aren't broadcasting "we're fked, come and get Branthwaite for £40m"

Have points deductions been ruled out for PRS breaches, anyone know? (Not that we can afford the fine smile )

If it's Textor, doesn't he have to find a buyer for palace, and then get PL approval (12 weeks?) for the buyer? (Anyone know to be interested in buying his stake?)

Is he pre approved as being a fit and proper owner, seeing as he already owns a club? Or does that take an additional 12 weeks? (Can he loan us money as 777 did, and then convert to equity?? Or does he need to sell Palace first?)

I say 12 weeks, it took about 40 weeks for the PL's (non) decision on 777

He actually seems like a decent guy / owner, so fingers crossed. But as ever, it doesn't look easy. When it comes to Everton, when is it ever? smile
