The ID5 / Enyaq / Tavascan shape just leaves me cold. The Formentor is a much more cohesive / attractive shape if you really have to have a coupe SUV type thing.

It's an odd marketing strategy to branch the sports models away from Seat with the Cupra brand, then proceed to market SUV's under that brand.

Sounds like one of the drugs my 16 year old Lab/Shepherd cross takes every day to stop him sh17ing himself.

Do Cupras have real bronze trim, like from the Bronze Age, or is it just real plastic?

Will be a unpopular opinion for sure but I quite like the look of this...

The Cupra electric products for me do seem superior to the VW equivalent.
Yup, like the look of that

I have to concure with some of the posts, it is a better design than many of the latest EV SUV's, but in the same sense that the Aldi logo may well be a bit better than the Lidl one. Either way, it's still dull and uninteresting as a thing, it just exists.

Probably depends on how strong the lease deal is

I find sporty SUVs a bit pointless.
Yeah, they put wide tyres on and they will just about stay on the road driven briskly, but at the expense of constantly lunching sets of tyres if you drive them hard.
I managed to destroy a set of PS4s on an M50d in about an hour of spirited driving, and then also had brake fade followed by the brakes locking on when parked.
If you want to make a sporty car then EVs with all the battery weight aren't a great start. Adding EV into the mix of a porky SUV and it's only getting worse. Make it a pointless X6 clone SUV "coupe"..... yeah, I'm out.
I drive a sporty electric SUV and the weight of the battery is so low it’s actually quite fun to punt down a twisty back road. I know a sedan would be faster but who cares? I don’t mind a little bit more roll, it’s night and day compared to my ICE ‘sporty’ SUV - leaves it for dead.

Good god!!

That's like comparing a 3 legged dog to one of those ones with a set of wheels for back legs...Still hardly agile, dynamic or cool is it lol!

Forget the car, with quotes like that, I’m seriously wondering if the CEO is David Brent!

Most PHers have the same interest in cars as the rest of the population.
It’s not a car site. Discussions on many subjects.

I don't think the list will be particularly long, as the Cupra doesn't really have a standout feature apart from looking better than a Mach-E.

It's not that powerful, not that brisk, not that special, which won't tempt PHers in the market out of an Audi e-Tron or Volvo C40.

I just had a quick look for brand new electric cars around £50k, and there's a lot. I didn't even know Toyota made the bZ4X or Subaru made the Solterra, but as I said before, it's a pretty congested market when you consider everything else around.

Personally I stand by what I said, that Cupra need to focus more on building a brand identity, rather than throwing out cars into a segment that's heavily saturated. Yes, I know, Cupra is owned by VWAG or whatever the acronym is, but still, it feels like an odd decision to let Cupra go wild on designs of, what is essentially an ID3 underneath.

That said, the Tavascan is a joint venture between VWAG and a Chinese company, and given that they have the Jetta brand in China, I can understand if it turns out to be a premium VWAG product intended for the Chinese market. I might just be an ignorant consumer but I don't see the Tavascan really making strides in the UK market.

When was the last time an actual “SEAT” branded car was launched? They all seem to be Cupra now regardless.

Would I buy one? No.

amongst many reasons would be trying to explain what you’d bought. The Cupra brand has close to zero recognition outside of the PH type community.

Current Leon in 2020 was the last SEAT model, but is also a CUPRA model.

It’s widely assumed the SEAT name will disappear soon.
