Yes.

Buying from new would seem to lose £100k immediately, and I don’t see any reason the second hand market for these won’t continue to drop over the coming years.

Have a friend who had to buy 2 coupes and 1 spider to get the xx version, reckons he’s dropped 1/2 million so wouldn’t be surprised if there’s quite a few “used” ones available. Was invited to buy a used one by our dealer who said they were a good buy and definitely had value in them, don’t think he was right!

Must admit after driving the 296 I’m not sure what the aversion is to hybrids, the Artura seems to suffer as well?

Re the battery cost, can well believe 50k replacement costs, a few years ago we were quoted 150k for LaF batteries - there was no insurance available then either, put a dampener on that deal!

That's some commitment from your friend. Sounds like some people would have no problem buying a five-pack of the batteries just in case.

I’d be too nervous to buy what’s still a relatively early stage in hybrid road cars for them.

If one drops below £200k in the next few years I’d be tempted, but not much above that.

Absolutely awesome car, had an Assetto Fiorano Coupe, it’s a Ferrari Tour de Force, 1000 hp and won’t put you in the hedge. Took the customary 100k first pioneers depreciation, and there was its problem on hindsight.. priced wrong from the off, they were first to market in a new price range. They will settle and they are absolutely a blast and next level looks over the bland looking 296, but that word hybrid is not liked in the second hand Ferrari market. Depreciation curve will follow the standard form, and the hybrid battery is not 50k, it’s 21k and due to some EU law the Hybrid Battery is covered for 7 or 8 years, regardless of Manufacturers 3 or 4 year warranty. If I hadn’t already been there and got the t shirt I would be all over one of these AF cars at £350k, and yes I would take one over the £500k Revuelto.

Shirt gone mate, I have experience of the SF90 and the Artura and at £150k for a used one you won't be disappointed.

Hmmm, the awkward looking SF90 with which none of the journalists have fallen in love - and they’re only allocated a negative Ferrari review once in a blue moon (they are also usually very good cars tbf) - or the much better reviewed and prettier 250LM-inspired 296 which sounds better and is still astonishingly fast? A car with actual luggage space to go on European tours in.

Even if they had the same list price the 296 would be a better car, but everyone will have their own opinion.

I haven’t driven either so my opinion is worth very little.

I've owned a 296 and I agree it was very quick however for me it didn't inspire confidence. It didn't help that someone I was following in the very same car lost control of his and stick in a ditch and he was in all fairness not tting around, the thing just seemed to go from under him.

I fancy a special Ferrari so I'm wondering if a Pista might be the way forward. Thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd wait until sf90's hit closer to £200k personally

just looking at your garage you've owned some of the most special/best driving ferraris imo - based on that i'd probably consider something like a 675lt

Had 2 Pistas at the time one uk one euro, and after driving an early SF90 with Assetto Fiorano pack, on track/on road the Pistas were redundant, sold both within 6 weeks.. SF90 with Assetto Fiorano is different level to Pistas. Wouldn’t change a Pista for a base SF90, but absolutely one with Assetto Fiorano Pack. The small price differential doesn’t make sense between second hand Pista and AF SF90, especially as they built 4 x many Pistas UK to AF SF90 UK. Brilliant car that is completely misunderstood. AF SF90 looks and feels like a HyperCar the 296 they gave me was a bland looking larger Lotus with HyperCar Performance. Also couldn’t get my head around the car being V6 at the price point with options.

If a 296 doesn't inspire cofidence when pushing on, the Pista will be worse. Driven all on track, and loads of road miles on both (albeit do not own the 296) - the 296 is much more tractable, the Pista is QUITE playful.

I just do not really like how the SF90 looks [but that is obviously a personal thing and they do have a lot of presence when you see them on the road], while I think the 296 is just beautiful. I don't know, they are all fast and nowadays and really expensive. I think for driving pleasure I'd just buy another Scuderia, should have never sold that car.
I keep coming back to the 675 every time I think about a new car. I have never driven one, but would love to try one and spend some time getting to know it.
