Because company car. In my case, options like these add no additional residual value so their cost is added completely over the run of the lease period...
In the EQC, it seems to divide opinions. Looked at one and test drove it but didn't gel with the handling and needed a longer range, hence got an EQE.
A couple of colleagues got crazy deals when the dealers were getting rid of the remaining stock of EQCs...

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, I haven't read the entire thread. But my wife tested one of these for a week recently and while we loved the styling and performance, the lack of cabin space was really surprising for a "big" car.
We had my daughter in the back in her car seat, and to give her enough leg room I had to have the passenger seat so far forwards my legs hit the glove box. She was still able to kick the back of the seat too (she's 2, nearly 3).
In contrast, my 2018 Mondeo estate is cavernous, and we both agreed that we couldn't live with the Mercedes.

100%, it’s a reverse tardis! We had my daughter in the back in her car seat, and to give her enough leg room I had to have the passenger seat so far forwards my legs hit the glove box. She was still able to kick the back of the seat too (she's 2, nearly 3).

Also the annoying ‘not a side step’ thing is awkward.
Still like ours though & will be sad when it goes at the end of lease.

Guys do these drop on the suspension to aid getting in and out?
I’ve decided out of an Etron or EQC we are going MB - prem plus and hopefully with the Burmester audio and sunroof.
BUT My wife’s a leggy 5'2” would she have to take a stool with her?
Mine doesn’t… Height is not an issue, but it’s a bit of a clamber for Mrs ABZ to get over the step, but she does seem to be getting a technique organised. I’ve decided out of an Etron or EQC we are going MB - prem plus and hopefully with the Burmester audio and sunroof.

Thanks Mike I’m
Offered a brand new one for £48k with sunroof the salesperson is checking the audio.
I have a 2022 full spec reserved at £35k so it’ll be one or the other.
If you’re parting with your own cash 1 to 2 years old seems like a bargain in comparison to new. I bought in 12 months ago at £41k thinking that was cheap for a 20 plate Offered a brand new one for £48k with sunroof the salesperson is checking the audio.

The extended warranty isn’t that expensive either.

Companies money and as it’s used it’s just 18% write down. The extended warranty isn’t that expensive either.
They said no Burnester audio because of parts shortages. I’m encourage that it’s done 17 miles only most are in the thousands.
Headline of an Autocar article:
"Companies seek cure for profit-wrecking EV values
Car makers are torn between boosting demand by slashing prices or holding firm to keep residuals high"
It would be interesting to read but it's behind their business user paywall.
Many seem to be opting for the "slashing prices" reponse.

New lease deal currently at “100” on lease loco - 2 year deal, 5k miles, 6+23 is £399.54 / month. £300 booking fee.
Low mileage and not sure how this compares to the earlier deals on here or PCP deals.
