Hi all,

Currently selling my DB9 Volante manual in BRG to make way for a DB12 arriving in November (apparently).

I wanted Buckingham Green but that was going to be £15k extra which I refused on principle so I plumped for Malachite Green, with Oxford Tan interior.

Has anyone seen this on an actual car yet? How does it look? I saw the sample colour - photo attached - in a dealer and it looks way better than on the configurator.

I, perhaps controversially, went for a dark blue roof instead of black or “silver black” - again keen to hear opinions on this.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Thats a lovely colour and if its £15k cheaper than the similar(ish) buckinghamshire green then I think its a no-brainer really... smile

Thanks guys - am glad to hear that - it’s hard to configure something when the paint colour hasn’t actually been put on a car anywhere - not even on Google!

Will obv post pics as soon as I get it as per forum rules…

The money Aston charge for paint currently is insane imo.

The green and tan are perfect for a DB12. I can’t visualise the dark blue roof though? Any other blue on, or in the car? Do you have any screen shots or similar? Can you have a green roof?

Colour is always subjective, personally I can’t cope with China Grey for example, yet others love it.

Ultimately it’s down to what you like, not us lot smile

Good colour; it's nice to see green returning again. I wonder if it's partly governed by the launch cars?

But I'll pass on the blue roof. Convertibles almost always look best with a black roof IMHO.

Here’s an image from the configurator if that helps!

See post from ale_72 on the “what did you do with your Aston thread…” from last weekend. Probably a different shade of green, but also blue roof.., I’d never seen the combo before, then two come along at once !

I think this one in Aston Martin Nottingham is a little lighter, had tan/black interior and looked stunning lick

Thanks guys - just seen that V8V with the blue roof. Looks good to my eyes but appreciate we all differ!

Both of these cars are significantly lighter - Malachite Green “in the flesh” is darker than the configurator images.

I’d still have preferred Buckingham Green but I refuse to have to pay extra for it!

Malachite in the mould photo looks great - isn't there an expression " blue and green should never be seen " or is that only for clothes ?!
Personally think a black hood would be my choice -what colour calipers are you speccing ?
Paint pricing has always been a bit of a joke but they appear to be taking it to new levels.
A few years ago now but when I ( and a few others ) specced their GT8's we all managed to negotiate the suggested paint cost down.
Appreciate things may be different today and the dealer maybe not so willing to fight on your behalf too !

Thanks Als. Yes the colour def looks better in real life.

Have gone for painted black calipers, 10 years ago I’d had chosen red but times have changed…

Think I’ll stick with the blue for now - if I hate it I can always dye it black later on!

Your beautiful car so colour choices all yours obviously - think red calipers with the green and blue might have been ott though !
Nothing wrong with black calipers either.

Not convinced the blue roof would work with the green

Have you thought about a tan roof? To match the interior.

There is an old expression "blue and green should never be seen". I'd probably go black, personally but the car is yours so go with your gut..

Lovely spec. Coincidentally, I was idly playing with the configurator a few days ago and had chosen Buckinghamshire Green over a Bitter Chocolate upper environment and Oxford tan seats (inspire comfort - light duotone), so I think yours will be stunning.

The Malachite I suspect will look better looking at the swatch you have.
