Any tips on how to drill out the latch?
I have glazed doors with a narrow stile, so the long point on a flat bit would be getting worryingly close to the glazing.
Masking tape around the drill bit set at the same depth as the latch I have glazed doors with a narrow stile, so the long point on a flat bit would be getting worryingly close to the glazing.

So why not use the old doors as a template if they're the right size?
Most doors don’t fit well, I can’t see the point of using the old door, You would also have to make sure you use the right face of the door to draw around as the original door should have a leading edge on it. I have hung over a few thousand doors and never once used the old door as a template. I have never seen another joiner do it either.

Hi all
I'm a DIYer and wife wants me to replace internal doors but what do I need and how do I do it?
Cheers
Just pay someone competent. I’m pretty good at DIY but door hanging sucks, I’ve had a few attempts but never happy with end result; lots of sawing, planing, faffing, more planing, chisels, more chisels, more planing, swearing, drilling, screwing and repeat. A decent pro will be spot on and quick. I'm a DIYer and wife wants me to replace internal doors but what do I need and how do I do it?
