Aston for me. Just that little bit more special.

Besides, if I'm going to have a car that will probably bankrupt me it may as well something that will properly bankrupt me.

The Cerbera tried its best to bankrupt me in fairness, but I'm still pleased to say that I had one warts and all though. Plus you only live once as well I reckon.

Agreed. I’m on the hunt for one similar but yellow just not the colour for me. Red, black or white ideally but want a manual C6 and a European supplied car with COC for export.

For V8 bargains-at least when it comes to purchase price-a Maserati could have crept in . A Gransport is probably the sportiest though a manual 4200 is a real bargain. Maybe more of a GT though.

I don't know what it means.

Should I just nod with a half smile?

I didn’t have a Griff but did have a V8S a long time ago. Now onto a Vantage.

For me, nothing beats roof down, V8 up front, manual gearbox and rear wheel drive. Especially in balmy summer nights in the countryside.

Blue ones are faster, obvs.

I don’t know why but that list leaves me completely meh. To me the Mercedes is dull, TVR will fall apart and I don’t really understand who Jaguars are for but it doesn’t feel like it would be me.

I really felt like my Vantage had a similar DNA to my old TVRs. Big NA unstressed and not fancy lump up front, RWD, heavy feel steering, clutch and gear change. Easy and composed to be playful with the rear end and far from the sharpest handling tool.

That’s some beautiful metal (and plastic).

If it were my money, would be the C6 as it’s probably less likely to bankrupt me

These are not bargains!
They aren't cheap by most people's standards, but maybe "bargains" relative to most v8 sports cars?

I'm trying to think what fits in this bracket that's £20k or less. Old shape SLK55s seem to start at £16k or so but likely still this sort of money for decent one. TVR wedges still seem to bottom out under 10 and so do Maserati 4200s if you're feeling brave (3200s seem a tiny bit more now, interestingly). There's also still a few TR7 v8 conversions out there for £6k or less, and the XK8 isn't really a sports car but maybe it's close enough to make a list like this?

Thinking about it, yeah, I reckon I agree with you!

Agree with that. My Vantage is a more resolved version of my V8S. Definite echoes of TVR when I’m out in the Aston.

Really good list that. Reasonably priced too which is unusual. Always had something drawing me towards a Griff though. Lovely things with soundtrack to match.

I've always wanted a Griff 500 ever since I got a video with Performance Car magazine years back, and John Barker was driving one. He lit the rears up in it and shot off down the road...so I was completely sold on it after that for sure! driving

This is a bargain (compared) although not advertised in PH so doesn't count -

The V8s I like are the ones that make that all American burble barely above walking pace. I'd trundle about in one of those quite happily. So maybe the C6 for me.
