bit of thread hijack, but good to hear some recent feedback on ST. I plan to use them if/when my carbon discs needs replacing them but the internet had gone a little quiet on them after they had some supply problems (I believe they focused on F1 and racing and the refurb business had taken a back seat leading to some unhappy customers due to wait time)
I'm not aware they've concentrated on F1 and/or racing, that's not to say they haven't. Merely I've not heard as much.
There was a bottleneck in the manufacturing process some years ago, I'm informed that's long since been addressed, Can I ask you what you mean by "the refurb business" ? Do you mean the refurbishment of their products, or are you referring to the refurbishment of other manufacturers ceramic discs ?

Pistonheads at its best. Thanks guys, will keep you informed on the journey ahead. But already some excellent advice here.

The only scary thing is owning a "semi old" car. Looking at 2012- cars and as my wife said "are you buying a 7 year old car Ferrari (face filled with scepticism)", it made me feel both old and realise that 2012 indeed was a long time ago...

I wouldn't lose sleep over a 6-7 year old Ferrari, especially a 458, most F cars have been so cossetted and over-serviced, the age is a non-issue.

I bought one a month ago and its 7 years old with 17k miles. If i didn't know any better i'd swear it was nearly new as it looks and feels it both inside and out. Maybe i got lucky but it seems mine has been mollycoddled which bodes well as a long termer.
Its only got 8% CCB wear with a full Ferrari SH..In fact its the overall feeling of durability and solidness which surprised me the most.

Hi looking for some info regarding noise limits on track for the 458. I think I'm seeing it's too loud so are there any silencer options?

Also come from GT3 cars - fancy a change and something a bit more playful but if I can't take it on track not sure I would bother.

Thanks in advance.

I did 6 track days in 18 months in my 458. Anglesey, Donington & Silverstone on days when the noise levels were more suited.

As noted different circuits have different limits on different days but at the time there was an official silencer p/n 70001965 to effectively guarantee 105db compliance - strangely it is likely the days referred to above were nominally 105db - go figure !
