Any experience?

Just had a meeting with a window fitter who we've used before and would love to work with again.

He's recommending CWG windows: https://cwgchoices.com. The Trustpilot etc. reviews are far from stellar so thought I'd consult the hivemind....

Many thanks for any feedback.

Rob.

I'm in a similar situation. Had a recommendation for a fitter who installed Rehau, but when quoting for me has allowed for "Choices brand" Kömmerling. I asked about Rehau and they claimed they changed a few years ago as it's on par with Rehau as a product but better customer service and colour availability (though I have no way to verify that!)

Thanks, that’s really helpful . It’s a bit of a minefield, possibly easier before the internet!

Yes, I have, I've just had the whole house done with these https://cwgchoices.com/choices-range/windows/flush...

A local installer gave me some catalogues to look through and while they worked out more expensive, I got the flush fitment and with all the astragal bars. I also opted for the same colour as the two external views from the catalogue, a colour called Painswick Grey which despite the name, is a silvery-green and had them finished in white on the inside. They were installed a week or two before Christmas so not really opened or closed them much but seem to all work and nice and sturdy.

If there's anything specific, let me know and I'll answer what you need. The obvious stuff...yes, I would recommend although they were used to replace the original Crittall windows. During the replacement process I found there was very little difference between having a Crittall window or just having a massive hole where there used to be a Crittall window in terms of both sound and draft insulation, so the effect of new windows was very noticeable but I had the worst possible starting point.

The only downside...and it may just be me, is that when the wind hits the house, the flush fit seems to generate a bit of noise. I would happily buy again.

Thank you @Autopilot - that's really helpful. We're thinking of those exact windows, albeit in 100mm depth. I can't immediately think why you've got wind noise but then we've currently got 5mm air gap around most of our casements so we're used to the odd vortex. Thank you for the kind offer: I will DM if any further questions come up.

Fitted ours last year - they came covered in Kömmerling tape. They're flush with the grain finished exterior/white smooth interior and no issues so far.
