After work spin on the Slate to Parkgate on the Wirral for ice cream.....the Hope Pro4 rear hub is an excellent pedestrian / bike early warning system
I have the same bike as that. Surprised you've stuck with the Panaracer tyres. I thought they were rubbish. Absolute puncture magnets. I ran them tubeless but kept getting home with dried sealant all over the bike. It had obviously done it's job. I changed them out to some Schwalbes and not had a single puncture.I also changed the gearing for something better for climbing and spend a week cycling the Alps on it. Alp D'Huez, Galibier, Croix de Fer, Les Dues Alpes, Glandon...absolutely brilliant.
What bars have you got on there? Fancied getting some flared drops.
I find the slicks ok, but haven’t ridden far enough yet to determine puncture resistance.....there, I’ve scuppered myself now...
The bike came with a Thomson stem and flared bars, I added an inline seat post to “match” everything up. The bars have a 20/25 degree flare, nice and comfy both on and off road.
Gearing-wise, I’ve left the standard crankset alone 52/36 and have swapped the cassette for an 11-32. That gets me up almost every hill I encounter in N Wales without busting a gut.

Quick photo, had to sort my handlebars out after a bumpy descent down Pitch Hill. 41 miles, 2800ft today, looking to extend that out over the year
Wore my S Works 7 shoes today, so cold. Couldn't feel my feet after 2 hrs. Hope its not the shoes, they have been good on zwift...
Not quite warm enough yet

(Not a recent picture, though)
I put my gravel bike to the test today and rode the 25 or so miles from Middlewich to Audlem along the Shropshire union canal. A few parts are quite well surfaced but the majority are just grass/mud and pretty bumpy. I survived and it was good fun - really nice day and some lovely views.
I chickened out and rode home on the road though - a lovely 20 miler into a headwind all the way. Plus I hit a pothole 5 miles from home and ended up being helped up by a passer-by in a tractor. No damage to the bike luckily but I suspect I’ll feel it in the morning :-).

Today was a good day, was out for a few hours from sunrise, each ride in the valley we find a new trail area that's deep inside the trees. Plenty to get your steering skills honed for sure I also accidentally did my first drop (about 4 feet), riding off a loose gravel path before the woodland and I see a small mound which looks smooth so I think easy I can speed up over it and get some air, turns out the other wide was a straight drop to a flat lol. Dropped no problem and landed rear wheel slightly before the front with my legs on pedals absorbing the hit. Will be going that way again for sure and finding what else is tucked away in there.
Do love this area though, such a nice range of scenery from dirt trails in woodland to breezy seaside for miles to narrow fast trails cutting through various areas. I'm gonna get a torso strap to mount my phone and have it recording in wide angle for some of the valley stuff soon as it's really great fun.
No ride is complete without fuel...
