Always thought the CD double was around Easter weekend? I've booked the DN Prime double end of July in any case...prob better when it's in early July but I'm guessing the Ring dictates to the organizer on availability?
I thought that too, and now the end of April date clashes with another holiday.Maybe I'm going blind, but I can't see the dates for DN. The website says they'll be released on 1st January?

Typically they have been closer to Easter but as you say it is dictated by the track. On the upside it’s a bit further into the season which maybe improves the odds on weather……I’ve been meaning to get on one of the CD Ring events for ages now and it looks like the April trip will be a goer

Think you have to be on their mailing list to get offered early chance to buy...the dates are Fri May 10th , Thur & Fri July 25th & 26th , Thu & Fri Sep 26th & 27th …go on general sale Jan 1st.
Thanks for sharing, do we know the cost? Also, do we know how the days compared to circuit days? Do they run fewer cars?

It's the same as UK days, the more expensive days typically have less cars booked on.Also, do we know how the days compared to circuit days? Do they run fewer cars?
The July Ringmeisters Prime have only 120 cars booked on the day, they are regularly the highest quality laps I have on a ring trackday but aren't suitable for novices.
I've done many days with both CD and DN over the years.
Jan 1st will see the last few places go on sale for the Destination Nürburgring days, I expect them to sell out the same day.
I'll be there for all of the DN events next year

The Prime double in July is £2050, May single is £650 and Sep double £1250…Prime day far less cars but a lot of fast high end machines with pace to match defo not for novices. Also, do we know how the days compared to circuit days? Do they run fewer cars?

May has sold out and September has 50 places left I've seen. I doubt there will be places left in Jan
May is still showing lots of availability for me. Prime will IMHO sell out before the 1st, maybe even before Xmas. The autumn double if it has any availability left on the 1st will sell out straight away.
I’ve booked for autumn personally hopefully the weather will be okay. It’ll be nice to go back to the place after an extended break.
IMHO the CD days in Oct and Nov make sense to pair with Spa beforehand.
The touristenfahrten calendar for 2024 has now been updated to the official ‘ring website in the last few days, so I thought it was worth a mention for those plotting a trip. As usual, the one which RingFreaks put on their website well in advance has proven to be accurate so I’ll be going through with the mid May trip I had pencilled in based on their heads up of a full weekends TF preceded by a Friday evening session.

ukkid35 - really great to see you tracking a Cerb at places such as the 'ring.
Might consider a Cerb myself in future, with occasional track days. How are they in general with track work? What do they need to be half decent on track?
Cheers!
Back in the day, other than keeping on top of general maintenance, they needed very, very little. Powertrain, brakes and chassis were superb.Might consider a Cerb myself in future, with occasional track days. How are they in general with track work? What do they need to be half decent on track?

These days, the biggest issue for TVR's is probably chassis rust, but ukkid35 will be able to say more - his car's done plenty of 'Ring laps.

The most important thing is to ensure there are no leaks, as these cars are mostly 25 years old or moreMight consider a Cerb myself in future, with occasional track days. How are they in general with track work? What do they need to be half decent on track?

Standard brakes in the 4.5 are good enough for me, and for many years I was using Protechs at just £100 per corner
Also best to assume that all suspension bushes need replacing, unless there is evidence they're new
On hot days the cars do suffer significant heat soak, causing problems with starter motors, and with the plastic expansion tank
I've never seen another Cerb at the Ring, so there is definitely an exclusivity bonus, downside of that is there's no one else there to help out with parts

One other point about all Cerberas - they have a reasonably good, integral roll cage.
As much as I like the Cerb - IIRC the integral roll cage might do something in a crash, e.g. stop the roof completely caving in, but otherwise it's far more primitive and flimsy than an FIA approved cage or even an OEM cage (e.g. Porsche).Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
