Has the Rolex bubble finally burst? Perhaps it has

Guessing not a new one.
Brand new from Goldsmiths . It had the maximum number of links and had the clasp on its max extension. I've got big wrists so needed an extra link . (Bought two as they're very reasonably priced .
I had to do this when I bought a Breitling chronomat and my Omega seamaster.

I think that if you're spending several thousand pounds on a watch they should make it fit as part of the price.
Well the watch came with a spare link which they fitted , but it's still a bit tight ,the spares should be in by Wednesday and they will fit one for me then .I suppose where do you draw the line , supply one spare or 10 to cater for every eventuality ?
In the scheme of things £50 doesn't bother me too much , just happy to have the watch I wanted.

When we used to have to do ring sizing, we’d go up three sizes before ‘fat tax’ was applied. Same result with the links. They’ll fit a fair size wrist as standard, it wasn’t common to order extra.
Be thankful it’s not gold, president bracelet links were an absolute fortune.

Like I said , the links are a reasonable £50 so no real problem .When we used to have to do ring sizing, we’d go up three sizes before ‘fat tax’ was applied. Same result with the links. They’ll fit a fair size wrist as standard, it wasn’t common to order extra.

The sales lady did say it was becoming more common that buyers need extra links , maybe we're generally becoming a tubbier population !

I bought a (new) Datejust 36 last year and on a warm day even with the 'extended link' it's borderline tight. I'm pretty low bodyfat but 7.5" wrist, just for reference. I don't think the current bracelets are generous at all.The sales lady did say it was becoming more common that buyers need extra links , maybe we're generally becoming a tubbier population !

I'm sure once upon a time I saw people trying to flog Rolex links for £200.
One current example

It's the cynicism about the whole transaction that pisses me off the most; there are scores of other manufacturers of nice watches that don't resort to this patronising nonsense.

He replies “Yes she has fingers like bananas”.
I hadn’t even clocked the size of the ring myself
