I'd prefer Steak and Oysters as in Carpetbagger Steak (ok Stilton added as well would be lush) far more traditional but never seen it in a pasty :scratchchin

You need to live a little biglaugh

Very much a pasty and is a popular flavour all over Cornwall - I think you meant to say 'not a traditional Cornish pasty'.

Our local posh garage shop sells Black Rock pasties, which are the best I have found up this way (Bristol). The in laws live in Plymouth and have an Ivor Dewdney shop at the end of the road and a Malcolm Barnecutt shop in the city centre. Between that and the Cap'n Jaspers on the Barbican it makes a trip to see them almost bearable.

Just spotted this thread. I speak as a Cornishman. The answer is Philps. Ann’s are also excellent.

Good shout, as the price of the dogs and burgers at Redhill have been triple locked.

Okay, so this is interesting and all, but what I really wanna know is, what’s the best pasty OUTSIDE of Cornwall?

Pasties by post recommendations absolutely fine too - have at it!

Excellent service from them.

When you say outside of Cornwall, what do you mean?

Rawling's of Cranleigh (Surrey).

They also have a farm shop at The Parrot in Forest Green which is actually a rather nice run-out on a sunny day, plus it has a huuuge car park. The local Lotoids meet there.
