Worrying, the Guardian only usually likes art house cinema of one legged lesbian drug addicts in Gaza who want to be ballet dancers but die in poverty. Filmed on a Nokia 3210 with braille subtitles.

Five stars in the Guardian is as likely to mean its a pile of steaming woke ste as it is to be a good show, unfortunately.

It's out today so will judge for myself later.

Is this another annoying "1 episode per week" release?
Nope, all available now.
Shame. frown

If it was 1 per week we could all have fun over several weeks discussing each episode as it becomes available, but instead we now have to binge watch the whole lot then discuss the whole series as a whole.

Haven't watched much yet past the first one but they've put a *lot* of effort into the production.

They do seem to had some fun dropping in game stuff all over the place, with special emphasis on checking off the weapons and junk items.

Has Dogmeat. Makes me happy (and yes, so much fan service to the games)

2 episodes in and I think it’s brilliant. For me, it’s a good story but as I played the games I’m enjoying the Easter eggs. My wife, who’s never played the games, and has no interest in gaming, also thinks it’s great.

Watched the first one, is this a Disney production?

That's enough for me to switch on Prime at the weekend.

I should dig out my old Roms, too. I never did complete Fallout 2.

The Amazon MGM at the beginning suggests not, as does some of the gore, nudity & language.

Does look a lot like a stylised computer game though.

I'm assuming a reasonable chunk of the massive budget went on the cars, not just the rusty old wrecks they'd modified to match game ones but all the shiny new looking ones at certain points. Liked the yellow Corvette type thing with the sliding doors.

I've been shocked, shocked I say! The Gruan seems to have it right - this is a fun and gory series thumbup

I must say I was also worried when I saw the Guardian highly rated it, but first episode was great and audience reviews so far are strong, 8.7 on imdb.

As a long term fan of the games I've been really looking forward to this. Watched 5 episodes last night and have enjoyed every one. So far I still haven't seen any Deathclaws or Super Mutants, pity because I think the Super Mutants have a wonderful sense of humour.

Lucy is great so far and exactly what the general audiences need to get them invested in this world.

I watched the first two last night. It’s excellent. Looks really expensive. Best show I’ve seen on a streamer for a long time.

Got to be said that the opening scene of episode 1 is really good.

Agreed - they would have been better releasing 2-3 episodes to get people going and then do one a week, to keep people talking about it and generate buzz. When something is actually good, releasing it all in one go does it a disservice.

Indeed. But I guess a lot of people want the instant gratification of being able to binge the whole lot at once (hence Kowalski655 referring to 1-a-week as 'annoying'). People just don't want to wait these days.

But to drop a whole season at once denies people the "water cooler discussions" that come from a weekly release cycle.

Anyway, each to their own.
