Are you well dressed? A PH gentleman thread.
Discussion
I know its slightly off topic in a gentlemans clothing thread, but what do people make of the shirt come jacket, or, 'shacket' or as some would call it, the 'military shirt'
I've had a green one for a couple of years now and it must be the most worn piece of clothing out of everything I have in terms of a day to day piece of clothing. Picked up another one just last month, but in navy, and slightly thicker for these colder months. Great to throw on top of what you are wearing instead of a full jacket/coat.

Back on track: what does everyone think about double monk strap black shoes for work with a suit? My girlfriend hates them but I quite like them. Too try hard ?
Not really back on track. There is a shoe thread for that.In my opinion any kind of monk strap shoes just make you look like you are special needs and can’t tie laces

This is all well and good, but what do resident style gurus suggest as a head gear in a convertible? Personally, having a distinctively eastern european face, a flat cap just looks cheesy and if I wear a baseball cap people around start checking their wallets haven't gone missing
A truly stylish gentleman would not be seen dead in a convertible. They are for the ladies and geriatrics trying to relive their youth Were he not a famous actor and that was an ordinary car I doubt anyone would be cooing about his stylishness.

I've seen them look great on certain individuals but rubbish on others. They are certainly an acquired taste (like tassel loafers). The Italians seem to get away with it (even without socks!). I think if you like them, wear them. I've got a pair in blue suede but not had the opportunity to wear them yet (more suited to spring/summer).

Suits you, sir!
Ha, thanks. My first and only pair (so far). Didn't used to be a fan (same with the tassel loafers) but thought I'd give them a go. I reckon they'll look good with tan/cream chinos come summertime. Consider me surprised!
