Where do you buy your clothes?

I started selling mine off as they take up so much space, especially the down jackets. Get three of four of those and it's like trying to park a Mercedes S class in your wardrobe! Still have 3 though (down jackets not S class)
Anything padded surely is on the peg downstairs job, we have 10 hooks, and I estimate there’s 20 jackets or so there now. Have to switch out between the seasons as they won’t all fit.okgo said:

Lol, we split under the stairs hooks and there’ll be a full scale row if someone puts their coat on my hook. I don’t mind really but if you let standards slip etc lolYip, also switch out on seasonality.

Not down but a big chunky insulated parka from Craghoppers https://www.craghoppers.com/mens-bishorn-ii-insula...Takes up loads of space and to be honest doesn't get much use as unless it low to minus figures centigrade its just too warm. Better a thiner coat and add a fleece or woolen jumper underneath.

I think "field jacket" or "utility jacket" is the sort of thing I'm leaning towards.

But probably a bit "plainer" looking.
Same issue around how to avoid "made in Bangladesh" or whatever.
When I used to buy from army surplus stores in my student days I never looked like that.I think "field jacket" or "utility jacket" is the sort of thing I'm leaning towards.

I wouldn't spend that much money on a field jacket.
If that's the style you're after also google car coats. It is a car forum. I've a very good down filled one that looks like a normal jacket on the outside but it's no longer available.
If one of your concerns is ethical workforces and a preference for UK made this is an option along similar lines - https://communityclothing.co.uk/collections/mens-c...
I've yet to buy from community clothing but probably will at some point. I can't justify buying another coat but tempted by their Harringtons.

I recently got some T-shirts and pants from them, pleased with the price and quality. I've yet to buy from community clothing but probably will at some point. I can't justify buying another coat but tempted by their Harringtons.

I actually think their casual shirts are better than their work shirts
To be fair I would wear those to work (maybe no the short sleeve). My company had a dress for your day policy. Basically if you were not meeting and client or underwriter you don't need a suit and tie, smart casual was the rule but many still wore suits out of habit.I actually think their casual shirts are better than their work shirts

Was great when they'd ship from the UK and it was still 4 for £100... now on their EU site it's EUR87-93 each with discounts (10-20% or so) if you buy multiples.
I do need some more business casual shirts for a couple of weeks of conferences coming up. I expect CT will get my money....
Otherwise, it'll be polo shirts from Uniqlo for most of the Spring / Summer for me.
Sports Direct mostly, although it has been three years since I bought any new clothes, I really need some new trousers.
If I need something smarter M and S, I used to buy underwear from them too although since they closed down the high street shop it has been Amazon.
Amazon or Sports Direct for shoes and trainers.
I still have shirts that are 30 years old!

Anyone know if there are any bank holiday sales or anything on?
Flannels have 20% off everything but it's all a bit too "visible" designer.
Now the sun it out I could do with another hoodie and possibly a couple more Sunspel polos or some nice plain tees.
Annoyingly Asket are out of the hoodie I want until August which is a bit odd for something so mundane.

Sunspel are doing a 20% off on their website. I'm tempted by them, but I want to go to one of their stores in a few weeks, and get some face to face advice, to find which of their range works for me. The more I see of Asket the more irritated I get by their advertising. Particularly their "environmental impact" stuff

The small print is ridiculous! In their online ads the water consumption is measured against somewhere that's basically a dry desert for 99% of the year! I also dont buy their own numbers in general.
I bought a Burberry PeaCoat about 10 years ago from Bicester Village for about £300. Big discount from the full price and it's still going strong, looks new really and is incredibly warm.
Turns out I did well as they're still going for more on Ebay.

I did find an email with 30% off some styles and colours so I'm mulling on that one.
I've only had a couple of hoodies from Asket so far and they seem decent.
To be fair I'm not so big on the environmental impact stuff as I am on trying to just buy a bit better and less often.
If you're looking at Sunspel perhaps look at Luca Faloni too though I expect if you're near London or somewhere where they have a store you're probably spoiled for choice.

Having lived with and washed the Asket T-shirts, both normal and summer weight, I prefer them to the Sunspel ones. Quality is on a par but the Asket are about an inch longer which fit me better. I’ll be buying more.
I also went into Boggi for the first time recently and came out with a very nicely fitting cashmere blend jumper. A decent alternative to John Smedley.

Did see Luca Faloni. I sort of want the "Succession" style Linen baseball cap

Interesting. I had a T shirt on at the weekend which is an old Boss one and realistically its a bit too short. If Sunspel are the same I'll take a look at Askets wares.Edited by BunkMoreland on Monday 6th May 21:56
