Or accept that not everything is a zero sum game.
You opinion is no greater than anyone else’s so pack in the ‘anyone who doesn’t agree with me is a Rambo hard man’ act. It’s tedious & has ruined a thought provoking and interesting thread.

This thread is really odd.

If your Ukrainians friends have handed in their passports, fair enough, or do they still want the protection that passport gives them?
Is that how it works? Only Rambos get passports now? BoRED S2upid said:
Fight in modern warfare is a lot different to WW2 so I said fight in the hope I could fly a drone as I’m not that good at shooting a gun.
Isn't the point that one doesn't really get much of a choice? Whether you get a relatively safe cushy posting far from the fighting doing admin or you get shoved an assault weapon and ordered into the trenches, it's not as if you can only agree to do the former and refuse the latter when you are handing in conscription papers at the recruitment office.....

I'm mid-40s now, terribly out of shape, riddled with injuries, 2 kids at home etc.
Barnes Wallis wasn't very fit.Reginald Mitchell was 42 when he died.
Neither were soldiers, but together they did more to win WW2 than any soldier.
You don't have to "fight" to fight.
There's no point pretending that I'm basically 'nails' despite a few decades sat at a desk and I could turn myself into Action Man when needed though. I think my ADHD would be okay with it as a younger man, keeps life simple, and I'm usually pretty chill when there's something to worry about, it's normal life that scares me.

Would I be able to run? Not sure I could live with myself, leaving friends and family to do something I refused to do, so no I couldn't run. Would I be much use in the trenches - probably not - probably more suited to the cyberwarfare side of things.
I could run some fun person development activities if there was a flip chart in the trench.......Me. I would run, why?
Well to me over the last few generations several of my family have been conscripted into soldiering for self-interested politicians that never seen a hint of the battle themselves. I have no loyalty to a country, I would get out and move to a safer country for me.
The phrases "Lions led by donkeys" and "run so far back I seen a General" spring to mind when ever I think of war.
I have seen the damage that fighting in a war has done to people and my best advice is stay away from it! enough of my family blood has been spilt over European fields over the last 100 years.
Look after yourself first.
