Based on a 7.5p kWh tariff, it would cost £3.47 to 'fill'
WLTP is 252miles, but in reality, around 175 or so (depends on driving style like any car) so about 2p a mile to run based off that.

An Enyaq estate can be had on Motability from zero upfront. Plus you get a £750 new car grant if you've not had one before. So that's £10,250 over 3yrs to have a new Enyaq, fully insured with a home charge point installed. Cheap as chips.

Bearing in mind "Joe Public" cant even go and order one. You have to be a GR Yaris owner OR had registered for one before May 2022.
A low miles 2021 car suddenly looks like a bit of a bargain at around £30K...

I wouldn't consider an EV if I couldn't charge at home. And at the moment I'm happy to pay for petrol as its not that much and for me, the car is more than just a means of transport.
Is insurance just a problem with the Chinese brands?
I ran a few quotes and found that the Vauxhall and also an Abarth 500e were about the same as my Fiesta ST. A BYD Atto was a bit more expensive but still only 500 quid.

There are lots of EV’s available for the trade to buy from Motabilty, some with delivery mileage, trouble is pricing becomes a rush to the bottom and the Mokka is not a very practical car as the Corsa feels bigger inside.
More one for the EV thread maybe but as we're talking about them, 81k on this Corsa e, battery warranted, but toast, would love to know what happened here! That's a lot of time plugged in!!!

Why is it that some EVs are ridiculously cheap whereas others aren't?
I had expected it to be the Chinese brands that were cheapest but far from it. If they're wanting to muscle in on the UK market surely they'll have to do better?
I searched for the cheapest 2023 EVs and found some surprising results. Leaving out things like the AMI and Twizzy as they're not actually cars I found.
Fiat 500e with delivery miles at £13.5k which is half rrp.
Nearly new Nissan leaf is about £14k. Quite a bit cheaper than an MG4.
Kona electric for under £17k. A BYD Atto3 would be £27k
Then there's the Corsa which is £14k compared to a GWM Ora funky cat at £19k. That one does surprise me as the Ora is one of the cheapest lease cars around.
I know the Fiat 500 is low range and base spec but as an urban runabout its pretty tempting.

At auction 72 plate 5-10k mile fiats are 11-12k ish.
Biggest bargain is the Citroen ec4 shine+ - all the toys, half decent car, so cheap.

Small battery cars are okay for those who just do short local journeys. I know lots of people who do under 100 miles a week, myself included.At auction 72 plate 5-10k mile fiats are 11-12k ish.

That Citroën looks pretty good too.
Again, it's European. I know BYD have only just arrived but I think they have their work cut out. I've never seen the Dolphin in the flesh but I think it looks pretty dull. It's £25k and that seems to be with a couple of grand discount. I'm afraid that's too much if you can go out and buy a year old Corsa fir over £10k less. Even though its a Vauxhall I'm sure lots of people see it as an established brand and a safer bet.
