What have you done to your BMW today?

Lovely - I refreshed the suspension on my 125i Coupé a couple of years ago - fitted Sachs OEM+ dampers, new bump stops and top mounts, and it was a completely different car, less keen to randomly bounce me into a hedge if I hit a bump at the wrong time.
Of course there's the important question - have you remapped it yet? If you haven't I'd get it done, it's bordering on hilarious the way it takes off over 4k rpm.
Haven't done much on mine except take it out for a spin yesterday to go and drop some stuff off at me mum's (she's isolating until her jab kicks in). Even though I lived there for 10 years I still managed to get lost and ended up on all sorts of country roads with the windows down and the N52 singing. Lovely.
I have noticed however that I'm getting lots of green algae on various window trims and around the boot spoiler - it's quite dark and wet in our parking space and doesn't get much sun, so has started growing. Any suggestions on cleaning stuff to get it off both window seals and metal?
It’s not remapped yet, but it is happening at some point because it feels a bit flat about 4K, whereas that was about the time my old E90 330 would wake up.Of course there's the important question - have you remapped it yet? Few other things are taking priority at the mo though; paint to the drivers side to get rid a few annoying dings that can’t be dealt with via PDR and the boss (it’s her daily) want a double din screen again fro CarPlay etc.
My mate has a mapped 125i so we’re going to do some unscientific back to back tests at some point.
Detailed over the weekend, it had not been done for a while, finished in Meguiars Ceramic Liquid Wax and some Bouncers Done and Dusted SI edition, finally decided to fit my private plate, but then the silly sod in me could not decide between the full size legal plate or the still legal shorter plate. Eventually settled on the shorter plate.
Out for an essential trip yesterday and then put back in the garage on trickle charge, until Thursday when the new rear boots get fitted. As for today not even opened the garage so slightly cheating, but not overall at least that is what I am sticking to!

Another Wednesday/bin day, 630 back on a recovery truck.
This time being collected to take to the bodyshop to get that light front end damage sorted. Fingers crossed they'll do a good job.

Does look great. Same alloys as on the 320Si? Apart from those, what differentiates the LE over the normal M Sport?Edited by g3org3y on Wednesday 3rd March 11:42

It was a fixed spec based on a 130i M Sport. 3dr, Carbon black, lemon interior, Style 216 wheels, limited edition starter button, nav and xenon lights. No cruise, heated seats or the like though. Only 160 of them were commissioned by BMW GB to help boost sales of the 130i, as not many were selling. They were bit of a bargain, though, as they cost less than a 3dr 130i M Sport with those bits added on.One of my mates bought one just before Christmas with heated seats, logic7 and cruise retrofitted. They're nice cars.
Used the foglights (quite legitimately) for the first time in ages on Tuesday.
Of course after 10 mins the OS bulb shat itself giving a headlight warning on the dash.
Looks like an H8 bulb and needs the arch liner removed to access.
Incidentally, were you guys aware that with the Check Control, if you hold down the BC button when the fault is on the dash, it'll give you a code you can look up. In this instance CC-ID 138

If only 2 years into a PCP, how comes you're using a specialist and not the BMW main dealer? At that age, isn't it under warranty anyway?

Are you able to give us any more detail? You've mentioned this a couple of times.Whats wrong with the car? You mention an oil leak?
I find it hard to imagine getting it A1 again is going to cost any more than trying to dig yourself out of a PCP deal you're most likely very upside down in and then suffer the depreciation / likely increased payments in another car?

That looks cracking.I love those wheels. I was tempted by an LE but my other half (whose car it would have been) felt very strongly about the chrome window surrounds and said no. There was no talking her around.
I still keep an eye out for one (nearly bought an AUC one at 3 years old a number of years back) but i dont think they do an auto (or if they did they are that rare that i havent seen any come up), which would be pre-req for me these days.

Not insurmountable though, surely? Easily wrapped i'd have thought.

True, but she wasn’t having it (I gave up), it was a hard sell anyway to swap her black hatchback for another black hatchback. The cabriolet was a much easier sell in that respect.I still keep an eye out for one (nearly bought an AUC one at 3 years old a number of years back) but i dont think they do an auto (or if they did they are that rare that i havent seen any come up), which would be pre-req for me these days.

Must admit I had similar misgivings when I was looking at them before I got my 125i. My old 330d had the same chrome window surrounds, and they were a pain to keep looking fresh. I love those wheels. The LE is lovely, but overall I still prefer the Coupe from a styling perspective. Not conventionally attractive, but it's ended up being one of my favourite BMW designs if I'm completely honest. Huge amounts of bias obviously, but after 6 years I still glance back at it after I've parked up.
Just need to persuade the wife we should keep it when I get a new one later in the year.

You can change the chrome trim for shadowline chrome. (Black) The LE is lovely, but overall I still prefer the Coupe from a styling perspective. I love the colour combination of the 130i LEs, but they are all 3 doors and have the Electric PAS - and I couldn't afford one when I was looking so I got a 330i instead.
Anyway I had some essential travel today so I took the Z4MC as I hadn't used it for 2 weeks. Wow, I love that car!
