I've been reading 'Kelvinators' interesting post in Readers Cars about his Tasmin restoration and noticed this Griff that he saw at a meet for British cars in New Zealand. It appears to have a rigid rear section but possibly the original top. Anyone any ideas?

Not in NZ, but I have a removable hardtop in the UK.

Stumbled onto this photo of my Griffith. It is a NZ new 4.5BV so quite special. I have contacted both the original owner and Dealer (Central TVR) and can confirm the hardtop and rollbar were factory fitted. In fact it’s never had a soft top. The roof operates in the same fashion as the factory roofs - 2 piece. Hope that helps.

That's interesting. I am pretty sure that I have never seen a picture of that rear section before and certainly not from the factory. There's been a lot of talk about hardtops over the last 15 years or so and there was a bit of effort to get the "Malaysian" hardtop replicated a few years back but it never happened. Just Steve Edwards' version and it appears he has retired.
