I'm possibly going to need special assistance at Gatwick and Nice airports this week. I'm waiting on a operation and some days I can barely walk. Anyone had any experience at either of these airports or offer advice?

Thank you.

Contact your airline and let them know, they’ll make all the necessary arrangements. My wife has done this for a family friend before and it was all very easy.

We used the special assitance at Gatwick for my son as he still required crutches after a broken leg when we visited Lapland. Wasn’t overly impressed on the way out, ended up walking to the gate (thankfully close) as they only had one buggy running.
On the return they were more organised and had a buggy ready at the gate which carried a selection of limpers and draggers straight to and through passport control skipping the queues.

It might be a good experience and it might be a nightmare. There's no way to tell in advance.
