Bad day for me yesterday
I'd checked the proper suspended bay sign 8 yards away and the motorbike one wasn't included, turns out it was scribbled on the sign in pen and to my 6am eyes looked no different to normal.
Given the non-compliant/confusing and obscured signage I'll be appealing. The temptation to put a plate on with a single digit wrong (dyslexic transcription error) is getting stronger by the day!
You do right to appeal it, how in any way is that sign compliant ? Anyone could have scribbled on it. I'd checked the proper suspended bay sign 8 yards away and the motorbike one wasn't included, turns out it was scribbled on the sign in pen and to my 6am eyes looked no different to normal.

Worth a shot at an appeal nonetheless
I appealed on - 3 grounds - that I checked the (legally compliant suspended bay sign) which didn't mention this bay being suspended. That the sign they were relying on was a non-compliant format and that it was blocked by vegetation when viewed at head height.
Issue is whether I appeal or just pay the discounted £65 as fk off money - (I've failed an appeal on the non-complaint signage before 5 years ago, albeit not when next to a proper suspended bay sign). Principal says the latter but with a 70 hour working week, an ongoing house refurb and a 5m old baby I could really do without the hassle.

Had exactly this myself (but 12-15 years ago) from a BTP Astra estate on the A329m. Each time they pulled alongside and waved to slow down I just shrugged, mouthed go away/what's your problem and carried on - nothing more happened.

Sorry but as somebody that commutes on a motorbike and drives a car off-peak, in suburban locations which are now significantly % borough-wide 20 limits, driving at 30mph is a lot faster than 20mph, nearly 50% more so.
Even in the car tt's so much faster I regularly overtake all the people bumbling along at an indicated 19 (real 15-16mph) as it saves a significant amount of time. On my very regular Sanderstead to Lee Green journey I must average an overtake each journey, in each direction - far more when at extreme off-peak hours

If this is a legit letter, for that £££ and the hassle involved in defending/fighting it I'd be very tempted to ignore it
Had a letter in 2020 (well my wife did) from Germany wanting EUR 300 for a speeding violation (and another, which was completely unjustified from Croatia for 10x that). We ignored them both knowing the brexit wheels were about to be finalised.
My wife also updated her passport/registered keeper of car to her married name and we took the private plate off it. We've heard nothing more from either "fine" since.

150 even on a quiet UK motorway is the practical cut off re safety.
I had a boggo spec hired A4 in Germany and the front end got very light at 150.
Conversely our 1 series was still pulling into the limiter (and reading +165mph on the dials), still felt planted.I had a boggo spec hired A4 in Germany and the front end got very light at 150.

You've made your point, your risking making it look like a personal vendetta.
Bored waiting on a flight. Have not posted his name which I cannot believe a tool as sharo as he would clearly indicate here via his name sake and then run this thread. I had thought given the epic scale of hole digging he must be a troll but it seems not.pork911 said:

No idea as I clocked the shadow 40yds away behind a stopped oncoming bus. No idea when she started running but she was already down as I was near her/falling as I saw her closer (10yds)
This does make your story sound a little fishy. You said in your OP that she was:-"near invisible until right in front of me"
"Owing to her being all black, it being dark, oncoming headlights, poor street lighting and light drizzle"
But you spotted her shadow behind a bus 40 yards away?
I don't doubt that she stepped out from behind a bus and she had failed to look for approaching traffic. It does sound like you saw her and didn't react until too late. I'm not saying it's your fault, but it does appear that you're phrasing it very carefully to make it sound like you had less time than was really available to you. I also think that attempting to frustrate the police's investigation will not help you and only has the potential to make your situation worse.

Would it be possible for you to translate this into English please? The Gauge said:
By contrast, if you were driving on a road with nobody else present and somehow flipped your car over causing a complete write off, and you lost all your limbs and became paralysed, it would not be classed as an RTC, as there was no other vehicle present.
I don't think that's true.Many RTCs are single vehicle.
Could you provide a link?
Thanks.
