Why all the negative replies?
This used to be a website for people who enjoyed pressing on a bit. Seems to have degenerated into mumsnet.
I've been here almost as long as you, it used to be full of people who enjoyed cars and drove sensibly, without posting inflammatory comments because they were old and bored, just like this one. This used to be a website for people who enjoyed pressing on a bit. To be fair to the OP, he held up his hands and admitted his mistake. He wasn't asking for sympathy, or even advice on how to mitigate his situation, and merely asked what would be likely to happen.

I’ve been driving for 10 months and just wondering what will happen. Thank you.

Feel free to “press on”, but don’t come on here to complain when you get a driving ban and fined 150% of your weekly income. It was your choice and nobody else is to blame.
Love posts like this. Who the fk made you the arbiter on who posts what? By the same token, if you don't like reading this stuff, don't come on here.Heaveho said:

Works both ways. I wonder if you see the irony in what you wrote?See you in the next “I got caught speeding thread” where someone complains they didn’t get answers defending their actions.

You won't see me in any thread where I complain about getting caught speeding. Not because I don't speed, or because I never get caught. Or because I wouldn't welcome intelligent input. More to do with the sanctimonious drivel certain posters subject others to, because they've the bare faced cheek to come onto a forum named SPL on a motoring forum and ask for advice.
Maybe a decade ago when this place wasn't inhabited by a percentage of holier than thou sad acts, but not now.

Hopefully they chuck in some compulsory grammar and spelling lessons too.
TosserIf the former I can see your point.
More importantly, I hope the OP will get suitable advice all round.

I never once complained or blamed anyone else. Just asked for advice and what’s going to happen that’s all. It’s fine by me if you want to waste your time and give negative replies and how it’s my fault like I already don’t know.Petrus1983 said:
I know this is Pistonheads and I know we've all made mistakes - but 110mph in a 50mph zone and not noticing someone following you at that speed - after having your license for 10 months is next level for me. And probably why the new rules have been introduced.
It was at 1am in the night. Due to my back windows being tinted and keep quiet a gap between the undercover. I didn’t suspect anything out the usual. Especially the fact it was on a dual carriageway and was going on about for 10 minutes. Super Sonic said:
Absolutely agree, driving like that while unaware of your surroundings is bloody stupid and I have no sympathy for the op.
For clarity, my point about people being judgemental was slightly sarcastic, and directed at stuthe calling people holier than thou, but I think it went over his head.
Cue the usual suspects saying speed limits are for generating revenue, it's not necessarily dangerous, it's an arbitrary number on a pole, they're set for the idiots blah blah blah.
I wasn’t asking for your sympathy. Just asked people for advice and what’s going to happen that’s all. I know it’s my fault and I understand that. Also I used to drive for work 8 hours a day for 3 months. I’m very well aware and clued up. It was just a mistake and they sometimes happen. Due to the timing and it being dark and the officers not pulling me straight away. It didn’t set alarm bells in my head and that was a mistake. We’ve all made mistakes.
I’d highly recommend an IAM Roadsmart course to the OP once he gets his license back again.

The advanced driving stuff should really be the test standard. I am doing IAM at the moment it is common sense really and we just need to get people to really pay attention when driving.

You can’t drive so fast and not pay attention. Did you think the bloke following just wanted to race you?
I be so honest with you. They stayed behind the whole time. Acted normal. It’s only after it got onto the dual carriage way and I was about to lose sight of them the lights came on. Petrus1983 said:
How long have you got? Really could be worth investing in a proper brief - you could easily save money in the long run.
My bad for the late reply. My court date was yesterday. I couldn’t attend due to family emergency. I had got in contact with Laywers and they had told me to write a heartfelt statement on my actions which I had done. I’m positive even if I did go or didn’t it would result in a 6 months ban. It was my fault and I have to face the consequences which I’ve accepted now. Salted_Peanut said:
