I was thinking along the lines of something less dramatic:

You might call that irony, but I call it a titanium-gold alloy.

Yellow snow ? or am I missing something fantastic ?
Winter 1963.

Everything stopped.
My mum was born and raised in the Caribbean. Snow was something she'd only read about in books. She arrived here in the winter of '63 and had to learn very quickly how to cope with cold weather.
Meanwhile nowadays the media claim that the inch of light snow due overnight is going to cause the entire country to come to a standstill in the morning.

But, not one soul is visible in that shot - Only the photographer has ventured out - No buses, no commuters?

Unless they are all in their offices already ....

My family went down to Brighton for Christmas that year, staying at a hotel owned by Ron Paikin, of Ron’s Music Shop in Ilford, if any of you knew it. He was a mate, as we had a shop nearby. If I remember correctly the snow started early on Boxing Day, and we looked out to see an igloo shaped hump where our trusty Austin A40 Somerset was last seen parked. The holiday went on a little longer than planned.

In The Pioneers Market? It was still there when I was growing up in the ‘70s. Lived just south of Ilford Lane.
