I watched this, thought it was a load of old tut. Total cliche, predictable, silly and I got the impression the Irishness was fully ramped up for the US market.. I was expecting a 'top' o the morning to ya so it is' any minute. Also the token black character shoehorned into the script just seemed a bit unlikely in a 70's Irish village in the arse end of nowhere. It's a no from me
I wouldn’t go that far but it was formulaic and had just about every elderly Irish actor from central casting doing a turn presumably to top up their pension funds. As noted, it almost got to the ‘Begorrah, bejaysus’ end the dialogue market and the plot was fairly preposterous. That said, the cars were fun to see, and the rather delightful Niamh Cusack also makes an appearance.

Have we had a Man in Full yet?
Quite enjoyed it, and was surprised to see an erect willy for the 1st time on a TV programme.
We started watching it last night only because we were channel hopping - episode 3 next.Quite enjoyed it, and was surprised to see an erect willy for the 1st time on a TV programme.
It’s OK - thought it was going to be another Succession at first.
Haven’t seen the erect willy yet though!!!

Has anyone else on the Basic plan at £7.99 pcm received an email saying it is being discontinued and you are being automatically 'upgraded' to "Standard with adverts" at £4.99 pcm, but if you want to be advert-free like before it will be £10.99 pcm?
I got this too and I'm not impressed. I don't think Netflix is worth £10.99 a month but I really dislike adverts and just won't watch at all if they're included. I may go back to Prime and pay to be advert free as at least I also get free deliveryI've got until June 7th to consider my options.
Very annoying. I've seen this before with other things - gets to a point where they've run out of ideas/not clever enough to grow the business, so instead just make you pay more for what you already have. I already have, and want, Netflix without fking adverts, but now I have to pay more for it.
Alternatively, I can have adverts, but the smokescreen of 'paying less' is still us paying more because being forced to sit through ads is us making money for them.
tts.
Does anyone own up to running the ads plan and how insufferable is it?

I'm making my way through Dark, as everyone seems to say it's great.
I mean, the story's compelling, but it suffers from the "too many characters" problem, compounded by different people playing the same characters. It would be alright if the various actors looked somewhat alike or if the filmakers used subtle cues like associating certain colours with certain characters, but nope...
Enjoying it, though. It doesn't seem to have quite the same amount of padding as most Netflix series do. And the subtitles force me to concentrate while watching it on the treadmill; which pushes the fact that I'm on the treadmill further back in my mind. The acid test for whether or not a Netflix series is engaging...
Dark is amazing and one of the best shows I've seen. I get your point about the characters, as someone else said it can be hard to keep track of but stick with it. It's one of the most satisfying shows because everything is there for a reason and some stuff takes the full 3 series to make sense but nothing is superfluous. It rewards your attention. I remember there is a Dark website where you can put in what episode you are up to and it will give you a map of the links between all the characters up to that point.

Dark is definitely up there and very close to being the best show on Netflix IMO. I remember there is a Dark website where you can put in what episode you are up to and it will give you a map of the links between all the characters up to that point.
