“The emergence of lgbt or whatever” over 15 years?

It’s been going a bit longer than that laugh

First year I’ve not watched Eurovision in a while but can’t do it this year.

Our bloke/thing looks dreadful , I struggle a bit with all the gayness being thrust in my face, I have no problems with people being gay but I just don't like being reminded about it every 10 minutes. Maybe I'm just an old misery guts .

Anyway Eurovision is a great night on here & the comments & opinions are truly PH at it's finest , Looking forward to it
How do you cope having to hide your non-gayness?
I had a Market stall on Berwick street Market in the heart of Soho for 15 years & I've seen pretty much the emergence of the LBQT & whatever letters & numbers it is today, Had a few great nights in Madam JOJO"s on Brewer street as the owners guest, as I said I have no problem with homosexuality I just don't like being told every 5 damn minutes & I certainly don't think a sub standard Sam Smith should be representing the nation. I did say I'm a misery guts .

Whatever one does behind closed doors is their business . Have fun & enjoy the Eurovision fix next weekend sir.
Told what ever 5 minutes?

Ireland has certainly sent something a bit different this year. Hopefully they get through to the final.

A few duds, but overall I reckon the standard in the first semi-final was pretty high.

Blimey, Johnny Logan likes a challenge. Euphoria is a tough song to belt out live.

Ours was the worst.
Croatia and Ukraine I thought were the standout ones.
Finland- Bonkers (again).
Ireland - should have some sort of warning!

Hunky dancers is good in theory (for me) but that was a bit of a mess visually.
Olly can sing, but it's like they have no faith in the song?

Johnny Logan is class - did well with Euphoria. I saw him in a Dublin cafe after his Eurovision win, and they asked him to sing along to the jazz band, He sang "Summertime and the living is easy".

I was a teenager . . . a bit awestruck at how he did it so effortlessly. Much better than my Dad anyway !

The staging is a bit cringe (yeah, right, gay - we get it, not exactly a novelty at Eurovision) but having heard the song in context I've a funny feeling it might actually get somewhere as it's a grower.

When I first heard it I was absolutely 'meh', but it definitely has a hook and I woke up this morning with it in my head after seeing and hearing the performance last night.

These days you can hear all the entries well in advance via Youtube etc. but its always the case that once you add in the staging and choreography what was a decent song turns into a dreadful performance and vice versa. Lots of bum notes and warbly vocals last night as what a singer can produce perfectly fine while standing still turns into a sub-par delivery because of the obsession with the visuals.

It has long since stopped being just a song contest!

Ireland - not so much a song as a piece of performance art.
Slovenia - despite being mostly shrieking rather than singing, was always getting through because of that non-costume
Finland - f'kn hell man!
Cyprus - Dua Lipa/Ariana Grande clone singing something Jennifer Lopez probably rejected.

Croatia - bookies favourite (probably taking the partisan voting into account) but let's all be honest. It is pretty terrible.

On to part deus

Switzerland mixing opera and drum and base. Quite like that one.

Austria hot chick trying to disguise lack of singing ability with very small costume.

Denmark lady is a better singer. Pop choon is ok.

The elderly Spanish lady forgot to put her skirt on. Must be her age. I forget stuff too nowadays.

Agreed, that was a shock result. She didn't look happy.

I'm glad that Latvia got through, though. It's a decent well-performed song (without any gimmicks) that deserved to get a few votes.

San Marino doing a Lordi, but with a tighter leotard.

Estonian take on the Jets and the sharks with middle aged men was particularly odd.

I quite liked Italy

Can't see Isreal getting too many votes.

There seems to be too many not hitting the notes. Wonder if the sound system is not up to scratch

Netherlands channeling Falco. Comedy song that will probably do well.
