We decided to stop at episode 2. Seen enough. There was zero humour.
It only had one positive for me.
Only that the trans girlfriend was hot. Is the actor really trans?
My blond wife pointed out that she's just my type.

I thought there were some funny bits given how mental Martha was but it lost its humour later on when it got darker.
The real Martha has been outed as a lady named Fiona Harvey and has been having all sorts of meltdowns on facebook.
I watched one episode and half into the next. I'm niot sure if it was me, but I thought it contrived rubbish that didn't hold my attention, had little plot, bounced all over the place and was just plain weird.
Don't get why everyone is raving about it.
I understand the premise, it just didn't work at all for me.

It's a true story, that's probably why there's a lack of a plot... Mental woman comes into blokes life and st just happensDon't get why everyone is raving about it.

I've watched it twice my wife wanted to watch it, I don't think the intention was to come over as the victim & he was to blame for encouraging Martha on & he craved the fame that he knew how he was getting it was wrong but couldn't help his craving for the drugs & fame that came with the abuse he let himself receive . His stand up was not very amusing tbh
He has refused to name who his stalker really is but I'm sure if you wanted to find out one could.
Apparently, the 'stalker' has been identified and harassed. He has refused to name who his stalker really is but I'm sure if you wanted to find out one could.
The 'agent' has been misidentified and a man not connected to the story has been targeted too. This has caused a lot of problems for Netflix.
There's some detail on the fall out from this show on the recent 'The Rest is Entertainment' podcast entitled 'The Baby Reindeer Controversy'.

It was going well until the magistrate said they had asked the CPS to prepare a pre-sentence report.
Which Probation do.
Aside from that, the victim, Mr Gadd was excruciatingly frustrating in his catalogue of serial bad decisions. The explaining was all well and interesting but equally infuriating.
The real life stalker has come out to complain but some of her serial and multiple postings kind of underline her own issues.

Found it boring with zero sympathy for the ‘victim’.

I too was frustrated with his decisions until later in the episodes where it is apparent that he's mentally (physically) feked.
Then, with his explanation, you can see why he made so many wrong decisions.
The main character talks about how good you feel when you are complimented, when it seems someone likes you, even when the relationship/situation turns bad.
Unfortunately seen so many times in relationships and I've also seen it within my family

That was the point though, not to feel sorry or sympathy for him. It was like the partner who keeps taking back the abusive spouse, they keep thinking they'll change and the 'but you don't see good in them like I do'Found it boring with zero sympathy for the ‘victim’.
It does seem though that the writer almost wants to carry on the cycle by making it into a tv show and not making hard to work out who the people are. And has been shown that it wasn't hard for people to find out who it's all based on and the starring in it.
