Much experience of the legal system, or just of the daily mail?

I find your perspective puzzling, as you seem to imply you know better than the judge that dealt with the case,
Yeah he's been asked this a few times but just ignores the question. I wonder why?

We've all had our crosses to bear, we've all had a st day, and I know I'm not alone in having overreacted to stuff when in a dark state of mind but... As bad as that? And then to double down afterwards?

I don't think I've ever had a grump while driving where I haven't thought "well that wasn't a shining example of logic and reason was it, donk" within a minute or two. I definitely wouldn't be up in court saying "well she tooted and looked at me funny so I jumped out and acted like a man who has never ever had his nads emptied and wipes his bottom with handfuls of loft insulation"

Thread merely lives up to my PH expectations and is no surprise. I do however wish I'd known of this 'well they started it' defence in my earlier life, would have saved me a load of overnighters.... smile

It's ok to have a different opinion, but it's also ok to point out a fool saying something foolish.

Read the link.

She raged him first when he pulled out in front of her and repeatedly flashed and honked horn at him.

He has reacted and far from terrified she filmed him while laughing at him from the safety of her locked vehicle.

What’s happened here is she’s seen red because he got in front and ended up setting him up as he’s reacted badly.

He’s an idiot for reacting but she’s a sociopath for lying in court to get revenge all because he got in front of her.

Very odd thread.

The guy is clearly a traffic incident away from doing something (even more) exceedingly stupid: he is literally challenging all comers and the sociopath is the woman. Who apparently cunningly constructed a web of circumstances to make the guy, almost frothing at the mouth, look like the certifiable loon he apparently wasn’t. Mkay…

He may not deserve gaol time but he certainly needs anger management lessons. And if he carries on behaving like that probably a bit of a hard lesson on why monstering complete strangers may not be the most sensible thing to do.

Firstly, the Abbott guy is a tool for reacting like that.

However, my opinion of what I think happened is (given the location and circumstances):

Lady pulls out of petrol station, probably doing 5-10mph.

Bloke pulls out in front of her thinking he has loads of time to get out of her way. Clearly she could brake and avoid a crash by slowing a little (which she did) but she felt annoyed that that she had to brake for him. Happens all the time.

She flashes and beeps in the safety of her car, thinking nothing will happen but I'll tell him he's in the wrong. Even though it wasn't even a dangerous near miss. I'm inclined to believe that she probably did give hand gestures and sat on the horn/lights. She apparently runs a TV production company so will be used to getting her own way, telling people what to do etc.

He overreacts and goes mental.

So in my view, bloke gets what he deserves but lady probably provoked him, not that it's an excuse. Both need to learn some self control and patience.

I don't agree.

I think this starts and ends with him. What started to provoke that behaviour is irrelevant, there is not one iota of excuse or justification for his behaviour, beyond that he's a psychopath and that he shouldn't be allowed a driving licence.

That it's come to court and he is genuinely facing the threat of jail is a good thing.

The idiot has doubled down in court and talked himself into a stronger sentence.

I would also bet that he voted for Brexit, supports Reform and wants 'his' country back, but those are other topics. smile
