It always sounds weird when you say winter is here in May/June paua!!!

You are indeed living the dream Dermot O'Logical!!!

Enjoy your bank holiday Monday whatever you're doing!!

Wishing you a lovely bank holiday, whatever capers you may embark upon.
Mrs B says we've run out of capers but claims no one will notice if you use diced gherkin instead.

To be clear, if I mention Mrs B without caveats or footnotes I am referring to the cook at the Towers not Mrs Byker.

And speaking of whom, I see Mrs B is still trading through the back door:

Queues across the kitchen garden at all hours!

As I imagine the Towers provide her raw materials, maybe we should skim off some of her profits for one or other fund. In return, we could offer to protect her business. I'll ask Marco and Luigi for advice.

Morning All.
Driving duties completed without incident. Your correspondent arrived back about an hour ago, consumed a poached egg on toasted homemade bread and indulged in a short, restorative snooze.
The Memsahib's cat Charlie (aka: "fkoffyoulittlett") opted to spend the night in your correspondent's boudoir which was okay until just after three in the a.m. when he suddenly pounced and stuck his fangs in your correspondent's right arm.
There followed a brief but frank exchange of views ending at the front door.

I like capers and braised leeks in a fish pie.
Gherkins are all right I suppose in their right place. I think I have some, but it's hard to be sure because the label appears to be in Polish.

Happy Birthday to Ms O'Logical and Many Happy Returns!

Enjoy your bank holiday fellas. Except for the retirees, of course. No day off for us frown

Good morning all.

It's grey, damp and miserable out there today. Not as miserable as Roy Keane, though. Or the World Safety Car Champion.

I was hoping to cut the grass today, but it looks as if we're due more rain.

2nd round of roast leg of lamb etc coming up.
I’ve strimmed borders of Ginette’s little garden, veg plot, field I’m about to buy and a spare bit of land I look after and use but don’t own.
Hedges are cut both sides and tops. Around 15 barrow loads of hedge cuttings onto my compost heap.
Four (4) hours start to finish. Grass to cut, loads of it but we’ve just had a large downpour as I was packing up so it may be a spot of reading this afternoon but I can’t decide which book to start.

Anyone read these?

Cheers, Bobbers. Very kind.

If you haven't already committed to a luncheon venue, I understand that the East End Arms near Lymington is quite good. Owned by a chap called john Illsley, used to play bass guitar in a little band who were modestly successful*.

Watch out for the donkeys!

*Dire Straits, I believe they were called

That does look nice! Decent chips as well!

Hope you're enjoying your day, don't forget, beware of the donkeys.

And horses.

And beefs.

And porks, if you're within about 15 miles of Bramshaw. Although, if you do go to Bramshaw, there's a McLaren dealership there.

And a Ferrari dealership in Lyndhurst.

Lots of interesting places to go.

The votes have been counted. The decision to rename Galoshes Corner overlooking the mill race at Trivingham Mill has been decided.

The Results:
Keep the name unchanged 1
Change the name to Gumboot Gully 5
Change the name to Wader Way 6

The Council Leader's casting vote was not required.

The plaque honouring Brigadier Brassington KBO mounted on the bench is to be polished when the new signage is erected.

A most excellent decision, will there be a boot scrape mounted nearby???

No sponsor has been forthcoming. Mrs Brassington, Deputy Leader, suggested a door-to-door collection would cover the cost. Councillor Weakford remarked if she did it alone at night the cost would be covered before she reached the allotments. The Chairman asked for Mrs Brassington's response to be struck from the records.

Quite possibly a wise decision from the chairman, some of the things Mrs Brassington says would make a navvy blush!!!

I'm sure we could skim some of the profits from the rear door cafe shenanigans to cover the cost???

It's more complicated than that. We'd have to skim the money from Mrs B's Kitchen Cafe and donate it to the Wader Way Boot Scraper Appeal Fund (in memory of Brigadier Brassington KBO) as it was actually a donation from the Members here. It might be easier to unleash Mrs Brassington with a collection tin.

"Unleash the Brassington!"

I reckon she'd have more than enough by the old Gasworks, way before the allotments.

My only concern about that is the possibility of complaints from the new money residents in the tow path cottages, they get ever so moany when approached for donations.

yikes A sharing mixed grill platter for four?

Gordon Bennett, Bobbers!

And a small individual Yorkshire pud for Mrs Bobbers?

Edit: Don't you think they overdid it when they added all those rocket leaves?
