No, WHO you know can generate far, far better results than merely what you know......
You have me there.

Now, about the McLaren having a successful GP, one that could have been better had not a Ferrari decided to drive into the side of Piastri's car.

It was Kevin and Logan’s failure to negotiate a corner not Max’s bollard mishap that brought out the safety car…

You're both right - almost.

It's what you know about who you know that is the key smile.

That's true, but Max's car was wounded after the bollard so he couldn't get back up to the front.

With his normal pace advantage, he probably could.

I'm not so convinced. Neither Red Bull was particularly quick. I don't think it worked very well on the hard tyres. We'll get a better idea at the next race of the progress McLaren have made.

Lewis looked faster than Perez, which seemed strange, given the Merc is normally massively off the pace. I think the Red Bulls just weren't quite in the sweet spot yesterday.

Lando seemed to have decent pace before the SC and Max was hardly running away with it either.

I didn't mean to downplay the progress macca have made, it's very impressive!! Honestly surprised they've found the answers and resources to make such a leap.

Ferrari v McLaren this season would be an excellent development...

Why couldn't he get his car too lap as fast a the McLaren in practice? Or was the Redbull damaged then

Who knows what they were doing or confirming in practice..? It's irrelevant.

Well there definitely wasn't any of that in my case!

Actually that's one of the reasons I left school - to get some £!

Which is why you'd never have got a sniff at driving one of these cars wink

His dad certainly had a penny or two to get him started despite the rags to riches story he likes to portray.

But he's generally an exception to the rule.

I wonder if the green light in the sign outside McLaren still works. Its probably been a while since someone switched it on.

Clearly it wasn't in this case, Norris was quicker then Verstappen, he didn't fluke the win, he deserved it, he was in the faster car

So far as I'm aware.... He had enough money to get him through karting but that came with some sacrifices at home.

Obviously not a cheap endeavour, but hardly requires millions.

That could be a good title for his book one day 'exception to the rule'.
