Love Ferrari, but this isn’t getting the usual ‘want’. No doubt it will be epic to drive.
I do wonder how many owners might paint/wrap the weird black panel, particularly on the Spyder.

From what I understand they still are. It’s just become far too complex and costly to engineer and manufacture pop ups that conform to regs. Besides headlamps are a lot smaller now so there is also a lot less need to have the extra volume to package them.

The recent coupe concept from Mazda reignited my thoughts on ‘why not’ when it comes to concealed lamps. Would love to see a resurgence.

I think it's colour dependent. I do see most cars being spec'd with the black boot lid thing painted body colour. Or at least choosing a very dark colour to minimise it's offensiveness.The rear is a tragedy but we all like different things.
I like the open top more than the coupé. That said, I'm not sure what such a car is good for, aside from posing. Just imaging driving it from Milano or Pavia to Portofino on these small strade provinciali over the Ligurian hills. Maybe spend a night at that national tennis camp up there. Would be very concerned about ground clearance. So major highways only? Not in the GT spirit ...

This is my problem with V12 Ferraris. That would have cost around £330 new so the first buyer probably lost £120,000. £30,000 a year (before finance costs, maintenance, insurance or petrol). £50 a mile. Half the price twice as nice

Back in around 2014 I could have bought a new Speciale at list (I saw two for sale at Ferrari dealers, one in Zug and the other in Surrey). It would be with pretty the same value now.

I just drove a Pista 2100mi in 10 days through rural Spain and Portugal. If that thing can do it, this thing can too. It sits pretty high it looks like. Don't really see the issue!Skeptisk said:

Hasn't that always been the way with special editions? They hold their value and others dont. I think the 12c will look good once somebody paints the black bits or Ferrari release a special edition without them. But they will probably all be a money pit in the first few years.
