The marcos and tvr have wheel /tyre combinations that mean they can be used on UK roads. The others are totally unsuited to use in the U.K. sadly.

It’s my list smile
Owned the Griff. Owned the SLK. Test drove the ‘Vette (too silly wide for Kent roads, but fair play to the London dealership who drove it out for me). Test drove the F Type, but went for a 4C in the end. V8VR currently on the drive short list.
Not too many yrs ago you could have had my 308GTS on that list, but those price days are long gone frown
As a “relative” bargain, I’d argue you could have a 360Spider on there, at £50k these days they are certainly value!
Interesting! Isn't the 4C actually wider than a C6 Corvette? Left hand drive/visibility a factor?
Ah, apologies, some time shifting in my list above. When I lived in Kent/drove the Vette I believe I driving the Griff at the time. Replaced that with a Sagaris.
The 4C arrived some 12yrs later and far away from Kent.

I'll pass on all of them thanks. Oddly, I have an aversion to open top cars, save for classics like say a TR6 etc. Nice options though for those of you who love the convertible.
Wierdly enough I prefer a coupe, open windows on a nice day is enough, and better all year round. Targas a bit of an odd best of both worlds, MrsS had the wedgey MR2, and I really like the MX-5 RF - would def have one.
But from the list the Vantage floats my boat most, my head wants to prefer the Griff but to my eyes it's not aged well, notably the wheels. As another post, I wouldn't be too fussy if you were to offer me one.

Agreed. I’m on the hunt for one similar but yellow just not the colour for me. Red, black or white ideally but want a manual C6 and a European supplied car with COC for export.
These specialists (in other stuff) have had these 2 for sale for literally years, they always seemed a lot of money to me. Maybe they'd be open to offers if they were serious about selling them.

They also always seem to have good supply of Jaguar and LR cars w delivery miles, I assume ex-govt or stockpiled for diplomatic reasons but that would seem a v ineffcient way of purchasing to me. Including a V6 S/C F Type, but LHD and export only etc.

Maserati 4200 Spyder - lovely V8 ( Ferrari derived), don’t understand why these don’t get more love? I might be biased though - big fan of all things Maserati! 😊

Aston for me. Just that little bit more special.

Besides, if I'm going to have a car that will probably bankrupt me it may as well something that will properly bankrupt me.
I agree, might as well go bankrupt in style and class. I’m following one of the threads on here about a guy who’s bought a cheap (relative) Aston vantage v8. I believe his last bill from Bamford Rose was something in the region of £12k to replace a rusty subframe, service and some minor niggles.

He’s also having to replace all 4 shocks. So I bet that’s cheap.

You have to remember that this is PistonHeads though, and we are all powerfully built directors, so these are all pocket change for us lot! winkbiggrin
Given a new, absolute cheapest version of a Ford Focus is £28,500, does that make PH elitist scum for suggesting a sports car for less could be perceived as a bargain?

Chuck a private plate on the Jaguar and I would say most people on the street would anticipate it being worth considerably more than it is.

For a real bargain a well sorted Stag would seem to fit the bill better than some of those here.

9 years with mine now. Fantastic car, good value, quick, great noises, superb brakes, all the kit, rare, bombproof reliability, cheap to run…everything the 981S it replaced wasn’t tbh.

Do like the F-Type too.

there are also some specials of that model SLK55 R172, btw all the R172 SLK55 are pretty rare.

today I saw a nice black SLK R170 model driving through the street were I life, the first model so to speak, looked very good, well proportioned, compact, still a good looking car, yes it was driven by a (good looking) woman and some say they are hairdressers cars, but... I like the look of those smallest SLK models in the right colors and stance.

I still love TVR loads, and they're still definitely one of my favourite car manufacturers for sure. However I didn't get much luck with mine reliability wise though either, and how I actually managed to stick with it for 6 years now in hindsight still baffles me really.

I'm glad I had one, but I'd really struggle to go in for another one though I think(however I appreciate that the Rover V8 cars are a lot less needy than a Cerbera though).
