Setting, search AOD.

Edit lock screen (in the list at the bottom of the screen).

The AOD is now displayed. Tap the clock. Now you can change the style (digital, calendar, analogue etc), pick the font you want, change the colour, and change the size of it and and all sorts of widgets if you want to.

OK, so I've had it a few hours..

Camera is amazing. Everything else is Meh...

Squared edges and extra width make it awkward in the pocket. Also makes it look like a 2010 Sony Xperia phone..

Can't figure out if I can change the clock style on the AOD display. I'm guessing I can't?

Not sure if it's a keeper or going back at this point.
You can change the AOD clock as described above, also you can download an app from the Samsung Store called "Good Lock" which has an applet called Clock Face which gives you more options. All that said, most of the options are a bit naff in all honesty.

It's a lot of money to spend if you think the phone is "meh", though, so if I thought like that I'd be sending it back.

Still happy enough with my s21 ultra even after reading all the reviews. It would be nice if it got that circle to search functionality, but I'm not expecting it. It would also be nice if the screen wasn't cracked but meh.

Cheers. Got the clock sorted, though the options are a bit basic.

Coming from an s20 ultra I was expecting more.. Still can't get over now much uglier the phone is. Someone else asked me today if it was a Sony Xperia lol

It looks like a table more than a phone.

You must of seen pics of it before you bought it, so the shape can't have been a massive surprise.

Like you, not a fan.

Have a look at the 'GoodLock' app on the Samsung Store (it's not in the Google Play Store ). It's made by Samsung, and has various add-ons which let you tweak system settings. Various things for themes, navigation gestures, notification settings etc.

https://galaxystore.samsung.com/detail/com.samsung...

One of them is called 'ClockFace' and lets you tweak various different options and appearances for the clock.

(I used the 'NavStar' one to put back the swipe up navigation gestures I was used to from my S21)

It looked ugly in the video reviews, but not too bad. It's just way worse in real life. I guess I'll get used to it tbf!

Navstar looks interesting. I was just thinking today how little I use the 'recent apps' button. thanks!

I echo the recommendation for good lock. It allows a massive amount of customisability from wallpaper to lock screen to audio. I love the sound assistant that allows per app volume levels. There is so much to see in the different apps right down to customising the S Pen.

Anyone having issues with game compatibility and bugs in general with apps?

Need for speed: Most wanted - unavailable on the phone
Gta: Vice city - crashes at launch
Gta: San andreas
Microsoft keyboard - keys don't seem to show the symbols above the letters despite changing themes.

Still trying out more stuff..

Had a look at one in shop over the weekend, apart from the AI stuff (and not being able to test the camera) there isn't much difference visually at least from the previous 2 versions and even the S21 to a certain extent. Wasn't a fan of the square corners either. Lets see what the 25 brings, will only be a few months before the leaks and rumours start for that. In fact I'll start the rumours now, it will have a snapdragon 8 gen 4 processor, you heard it here first biggrin

I got an email yesterday saying the watch has now been dispatched. It's being sent by Royal Mail, so Samsung can't attribute much value to them then.

Bit of a bump on this but I need a new phone.

Currently on an honor magic pro 4 which has been a bit st to be honest.

Especially compared to the p30 pro before that.

Think I'm looking at an ultra to replace it... Did anyone come to the 24 ultra direct from a 23 ultra?

Is it worth the upgrade or does the 23 do 95% of the job!?

I came from the 23 ultra to the 24 ultra I can't really tell the difference, if you handed me the s23 back without telling me I'd probably not notice.

of course it's a better phone with a better chip on paper.

No way would I upgrade from an s23u to an s24u, unless you REALLY want the flat display.

A mate of mine has just got one and I had a play and to be honest it's barely even much different to my S21U.

I've just read that all the S24U features are about to be rolled out to the S23U. So the translation and circle to search etc will be now be on those for example.

I would say, compared to my S21U, it's much better. The S21U looks old to me, because it's all curved and black, compared to square and gold/yellow coloured. The quality of display is a step up, and at the time, I thought my S21U was really good.

As for the S-Pen that comes with it; I never use it. I can't see what it gives me.

It's certainly better than the S21U, but I dont know about the S23U.

A worthwhile upgrade from the S21 Ultra then you reckon, how is the battery life in comparison? I didn't notice much difference in speed but I didn't play with it at length, in fairness. The flat display is indeed much more modern looking. Will likely wait until there's some good deals or refurb models with warranties.

Yes, I would say it is. As I say, the quality of the display, especially it bright light, is very noticable.

For the battery life, it seems better, but I can't be certain. Mine tends to sit on it's wireless charger on my desk most of the time, so a full day without being charged is rare. But on the odd occasion when I've been out, my S21U would be down to less that 10% when I got home, my S24U maybe 30% ? But as I say, I can't be certain.
