I'm really torn, I only startex thinking about a new phone about a week back, with no idea of when the release date would be for this.

I think I'm trying to decide between a s24u or a 15 pro max and I just can't decide.

I get 15% off through work plus the free watch (which I'd sell as I use a Garmin) so the Samsung is cheaper, plus I'd have twice the storage on the Samsung.

Currently using a pixel 6 with an awful battery life, particularly when using 4/5G. Having to take a charger or power pack out with me is really annoying so I see battery life as almost number 1 priority now.

How do I decide

Have you got any other Apple products at home? Are you an iPhone user already?

If not, go for the Samsung.

I do have a Mac but in all honesty it comes out 3 times a year at the most.

I have a work iPad which I use quite a bit, more than happy to keep that separate though, for example I don't have my work emails on my personal phone.

Dual sim would be useful to put my work sim into, I don't really get calls through that so end up forgetting to turn my work phone on for a few weeks at a time at the minute. I need to look into e sim though I think

Agree with mmm-five, if you want to remain in the Apple ecosystem, or want a better range of accessories, go Apple. Probably also better resale value. If not, and you value the flexibility of android then it's a no brainer to go for the Samsung.

Apply S24SAVE before any other codes for another £100 (Ultra) or £50 (S24/S24+) discount

Just tried this and it works even after the works discount, and also with the free watch!

£961.65 for 512gb seems to be a bloody good deal to me? By the time I've sold the watch on I'm looking at being around £350 better off compared to a 256gb iPhone 15 pro max

Just ordered one, won't be here until the 2nd Feb though but I think that's because of the watch. Not in a huge rush either way though so it's no issue.

Thanks for the extra discount code the-photographer

S24SAVE is not working for me.
Although it was initially showing a £100 discount, it wouldn't let me complete the purchase, be it on a card or finance.

After closing the browser and trying again, S24SAVE no longer seems to work.

This didn't work through my work savings account so either has stopped or only on some. Tried through BLC as well but said invalid.

I've just gone back into the work iPad and gone through the same way I did before and it won't work for me again. How strange. Glad I didn't spend any longer thinking about it now.

Edit: just checked as a normal customer without the work discount and it appears they've taken that code down. What a shame.

Looks like the only deal now is a free upgrade of storage.

I'm still on an S21FE which I've just got a replacement battery for as my plan was to keep it for another couple of years as I've just not seen any major upgrades in the latest phone releases.

Then they talked about the AI being included and I thought it might be a genuine step change, but having seen what it can do, whilst very impressive, it's just not something I really need.

While I rather fancy the S24+, it's only because 'new shiny'. My existing phone works perfectly well and does everything it needs to. It doesn't feel slow to me either so I think I'll give this one a pass.

I will be watching to see what deals come up in the next 6 months though, as will, be interesting to see when I do get a replacement if its better going for the pre order deals or waiting a bit.

Sorry about 5pm they stopped S24SAVE from working, maybe it was proving too popular. Cheapest option is perksatwork, totum or other employer discount portal.

Probably no need to upgrade as I have a s23 ultra but I've done dry january and have saved myself over £400 so far (who knew going to the pub a few nights a week was so expensive) so thought I'd treat myself.

For battery life I would imagine the S24U might have the Pro Max beat, as the 23U traded blows and the 24U's Snapdragon is another step on from previous gen on battery saving. Also, don't forget the S24U supports 45W charging so when you need to top up, it should be nearly double as fast to charge as a 15 Pro Max.

Grey 1TB S24 on order, hopefully I'll receive it on the 9th Feb. It will come with the watch and 16% cashback (about £160) from Quidco, and a bonus £50 on top. I can probably sell my phone for about £150 at CEX, and the new watch for another £150.
Shame I couldn't get the SAVE24S promo either.

Coming from a Note 10+ 5G, I should hopefully see an uplift in photos and overall performance, that lasted nearly 5 years. The longest I've kept a phone!
So, 7 years on the new one should be ideal, unless there is a game changing phone that comes out in a couple of years.

Just ordered to replace my S23 Ultra. Couldn't hold myself back. £411.65 plus topcashback, sell the free galaxy watch should mean it's around £250-300 to upgrade. Not bad

If you are running Office 365 it makes zero difference, I do most of my document reviewing on the work iPad, the HP laptop is needed for finalising document templates etc, my phones are all Android and 75% of emails are dealt with on the phone.

Really should make difference regarding device if the work stuff is running off Office 365.

Anyone found any where doing protection film for the s24u?

The non-curved screen means it'll be far easier to apply this sort of stuff again
