Gone are the days where I used to get excited about upcoming Apple events, but for those thinking of buying or upgrading an iPad, this may be of interest.

I really like using my M1 iPad 11” with magic keyboard, but the software could really do with an overhaul and I find myself reverting to my MBA for certain tasks, which I suppose Apple wants me to do. I won’t be upgrading anytime soon as the replacement cost for mine is now a staggering £1215 inc keyboard, and an upgrade to the rumoured M3 or M4 wouldn’t make much difference as speed is not an issue, although a redesign would be interesting.

My favourite laptop of all time was the 2016 12” Macbook despite its shortcomings…now if Apple would bring that back with an M3 and redesigned keyboard I would be very happy!

May event timing is odd with WWDC only a little over a month away.

Hopefully this will include an AI related release / launch.

I use my 12.9 inch 2020 iPad Pro all the time and | would only upgrade this year if they released a larger version.

At a massive .1 inches larger, I think I’ll wait until the next generation of iPad Pro to be released.

its also an ultra bright oled

I have been waiting years for an oled pro, my current ipad pro has a fooked touch screen matrix so 70% of the touch screen does not work, been driving me insane for 6 months.

it was good to see they didnt increase prices and i got 10% off with the OHs unidays account

Face ID doesn’t work on my iPad, but I’m still not going to buy one. I’d rather upgrade my pc for less money than what a new iPad costs.

the pro's are a little bit cheaper than before taking into account the memory upgrade, rumour was they were going up 20% because of the cost of the fancy oled screen and the M4 chip

the entry one at £350 is a bargain and will do pretty much what most users would want

they get stupidly exspensive if you buy the keyboard and pen, personally i would rather get a macbook air at that price

Actually fair point on the entry level must admit I was looking at the new Air which just looked super pricey smile

That has me wondering if I could get my mum onto one now as her Chromebook is end of life. Bugger biggrin

I always enjoy pricing/speccing up Apple stuff….how about a 2TB 11” iPad Pro with nano textured glass and a magic keyboard for the bargain price of £2299!! yikes

I have a base M1 iPad Pro and magic keyboard, and will probably sell it and buy the same again when I visit the US later in the year (when Best Buy have a sale) but will wait to see what they are planning to do with iPad OS first.

Sometime between this afternoon and now they’ve bumped up the price of the Magic Keyboard for the new Air by £50!

no, just a really, really good iPad costs more than a laptop. I had this issue when speccing a Surface Pro against an iPad Pro 4 years ago. And then you realise that iPadOS is on the iPad and it's feeling less and less good as a value proposition....

You and me both, brother! I still have a 12" 2017 MacBook upstairs and dream of a new one with an M chip. Trouble is, only you and I bought one!

iPads are limited because they are iPads. These new ones are a waste of money once again

Yep... limited by the OS now. I would love an 12" iPad that runs OSX. That would be a total game changer.
