Got an occasional off again on again itch for another navitimer. I've only got the one bought a good few years ago now and when I bought it in the shop I was offered a discount without even asking while looking at the watch/trying it on etc.

What experience have you had of getting discounts on a breitling recently? I from time to time look wistfully at the limited edition one they did for the end of the Boeing 747 which still seems to be available 16 months on...

I'm following this thread with interest.

I've got my eye on one of these;

Do you think around 25% discount is realistically achievable?

I'm game for trying again but whenever I've called shops asking best price in the past it's usually a "if you come in I'm sure we can work something out" as long as it's not a silly watch. Bicester isn't a bad shout, may give it a go depending on what else gets said here. Don't particularly fancy a jaunt up there to be told it's list price. Might ask them about any upcoming sales though.

Stunning watch! Back in the day when I got my navitimer I vaguely recall getting a little over 10% off. I'm sure that's completely wrong these days though.

Having been in recently, it appeared to be full of stuff that can't be shifted

If you are the very patient type, it is worth revisiting the WoS website periodically. There's not many UK retailers of Blancpain and I asked most of them for a reduction to reflect their saving if I paid cash rather than using their 0% facility. None of them budged.

Over the past two or three months WoS have listed a Fiffty Fathoms at 35% off rrp. They also listed a 36mm Longines VHP on bracelet for £405 rather than £805. I suspect they were customer returns or ex-display, but with full warranty and better prices than secondhand I don't mind. The Longines came without the usual poly wrapping on crystal, bracelet and watch back, and someone had discarded the little plastic crown guard and set it going, if that might bother you.

Also, you might have to be quick. I did notice that these offers disappeared straight after I'd bought, re-inforcing my suspicions they were one-only customer returns. With Breitling already available at some sort of discount, the deal on a customer return might be worth the wait.

When I was looking last year I was offered 20% on a 46mm Navitimer if I did not use the 0%.

That's a pretty big discount! What was RRP on the model you looked at? Precious metal or steel?

I'm not the biggest fan of slide rule aviator's watches, but the limited edition model in the current Sinn 903 re-release is something else cloud9

I've bought several watches from these guys and the only one I didn't get a discount on was my tudor bb.

They have cabinets full of breitlings on display (almost half the shop!)

Worth a trip if you're anywhere near as they're also nice guys..

I've always managed to get a 20% discount. Shop around until you get it.

It seems quite easy in the current climate to get offered 10-12%, the best I've been quoted is 20%, which no one else seems able to get close to.

It was about £7400 at the time. Steel, not precious metal.

I was at the Breitling store in Cabot Circus, Bristol yesterday. was an hour before closing and the two staff present were just so nice, especially as I said from the outset, i wasn't buying on the day but I was in research-mode looking for my next piece. Spent a really nice 40 minutes with them, trying on a load of stuff and being very, very pleasantly surprised at a couple of standout models, namely the Avenger B01 sand dial and aerospace orbiter special edition with the orange dial and a piece of the orbiter balloon in the back.

All pricing was list price, but I expect that was because management wasn't in and the staff there didn't have the authority to give discounts, however, what they did say was that they would be able to add in a couple of straps, and at a push, a clasp. The strap I was interested in, to go with the Avenger was £150 and the clasp was £400, so £550 value in total, which represented about 8% of the retail price (£6800).

Take a look on Fraser Hart perhaps, I don't know much about Breitling but I can see they have a few Navitimer models on offer.

I was able to get a Longines Spirit for about £1800 down from £2300 and the service was decent

There are lots of reputable online multi-brand retailers that sell Breitlings. Contact them by email and ask for their best price - you should get 20% if you are patient and make it clear you are ready to commit.
