Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster
1963 300SL Roadster finished in unique combination of Pearl Green & Green Leather Hide Interior. One of the last cars built (4th from last) and is equipped with factory original sought-after aluminium engine and disc brakes. A matching numbers vehicle with its original hardtop and fitted with a period Becker Mexico GPS radio. The car is a rarer European specification model having been originally delivered to The Netherlands (80% of total production were exported to the US market).
This vehicle has been the subject of a complete restoration carried out in Germany in partnership with, and under the supervision of, Kienle Automobiltechnik completed approximately 10 years ago. The no-expense-spared restoration was commissioned by the Sheikh Al-Sabah of the Royal Palace of Kuwait as one of fourteen vehicles which formed part of his substantial collection at that time. During restoration various bespoke upgrades were made, namely air-conditioning, tinted & electric windows plus coolant and upgraded electrical components.
It was bought to the UK and registered in March 2018 prior to which it had a full service by Kienle and was fitted with UK specification headlights and a complete set of XWX Michelin tyres. It has covered just 2,000 kms in total since restoration and comes complete with 2 sets of keys and bespoke luggage.
