1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 993 C2S - Manual
It’s a sad day, but the time has come to put this great love of mine up for sale. I dreamed of following in my father’s footsteps and owning a classic Porsche as a child and after pre-purchase inspections of several 993 C2S’s, finally settled on this beauty in January 2010.
The car was first registered in the UK on 28th February 1997 and has now provided 68,300 miles of air-cooled driving nirvana to its 7 owners.
Famous for its build quality, the 993 model was the last of the air-cooled models and perhaps Porsche’s finest moment. The driving experience of this S variant of the 993 in manual transmission is quite simply breathtaking.
Spec: Finished in Zenith Blue with Marble leather interior, the seats are electric hard-backed sports seats – very supportive and comfortable on long journeys. The backs have a carbon effect and look great with the inset Porsche logo.
The exterior is almost completely pristine barring a hairline crack in the rear right brake light (visible in the photos). The rims were refurbished and the car resprayed maintaining its original colour in October 2019 by Charles Ivey Porsche Specialists. It looks stunning.
The factory fitted white dials set against the black dash provide a classic 911 look. It also has air-conditioning, electric slide sunroof and a rear windscreen wiper.

I have kept a complete and detailed history file. This year’s annual service and MOT are booked for 6-8 July and will likely have been done by the time of sale with, as usual, no expense spared.

The car currently has Michelin Pilot Sport II tyres, although they are approaching their wear limits. The wheels are standard 18” Turbo hollow spokes.
Other things to note:
I haven’t made any modifications at all, keeping the car as it was when I bought it, although a previous owner did make one modification: RSR exhausts from Gert at Carnewal. These look identical in every way to the standard mufflers and have a deep and throaty tone which is in no way over-intrusive into the cabin. In addition, and to complement the exhaust, the car has the drilled/motorsound airbox.
The car has a tracker installed, however the subscription cannot be transferred, so the new owner will have to renew separately if required. There is also a child extension seat belt fitted to the rear left seat which can easily be removed should you so wish.
If you’re looking for an unmolested, totally honest manual 993 Carrera 2S this should be the first on your list to see. I would welcome any professional inspection. With under 300 manual examples having been imported into the UK, low mileage cars in good condition are becoming increasingly rare and would appear to be one of the very few cars that could be deemed an investment in these uncertain times.
As a Porsche enthusiast I have felt myself to be more of a custodian than an owner and have kept the mileage to a minimum. Whenever anything has needed attention, it has received it without question. Nothing needs doing and it is in excellent condition – I even have a mat for the driver’s side mat!
Feel free to call if you have any questions that I haven’t managed to answer here. I’ve tried to give as honest and as thorough an overview of the car as possible – but nothing can replace coming to have a look.
