2000 Purple Audi RS4

Suffolk , United Kingdom

For Sale is my Audi RS4 Avant presented in Avus Silver. It is powered by the 2.7-litre bi-turbo V6 engine with Quattro all-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 129,800 miles from new and I have owned this car for 6 years.
First registered in September 2000, this RS4 Avant has nine previous registered keepers on the log book. It is in largely standard condition which is rare for one of these, so many have been significantly modified. This RS4 has been well looked after over the last six years and has subtle performance modifications using new OEM and upgraded components. It could easily be a good base for your own 500bhp+ build or kept stock.
The bodywork of this RS4 is in good condition overall, with a few minor dents or scratches. I have used and enjoyed this car during my ownership as have previous owners over the last 20 years so please bear this in mind. The car has been kept garaged to preserve the condition however would benefit from some touch ups to make it showroom condition. RS4’s of this generation are now seeing investment with a number receiving paint and restoration which is great to see. This example sits well between one you can use or one to lightly refresh and bring out on special occasions. There is a clean HPI report.
Aside from the main bodywork, the light lenses, window and door rubbers are in good condition. The plastic trims of the front grilles do need some attention as the driver’s side trim is cracked (something I will source and replace). The rear bumper and trims are in good shape also. It rides on the correct 18-inch nine-spoke alloy wheels, which would benefit from a light cosmetic refresh. All tyres were replaced with Continental Sport Contact 5 255/35 R18’s in February 2015 at 125,500 so there is plenty of life left in them.
Inside, the Hi-Tech & black leather upholstery remains in very good order. The electrically adjustable and heated front seats present well, without the heavy bolster wear. The carbon-fibre trim strips around the dashboard and door cards and gear stick are in superb condition, with no cracks or other damage. It is fitted with black carpets throughout, with floor mats (Driver’s well worn).
There is a damaged Bose speaker trim on the driver’s door which would benefit from replacement. There are a few small marks and scratches from use on some of the plastics, around the interior door handles in particular, but in general the interior is very smart. The steering wheel has been swapped for a mk4 Golf R32 wheel which is thicker, however this will be swapped back to the original. Factory-fitted equipment includes climate control and BOSE speakers.
Mechanically, this RS4 Avant is in great condition, and benefits from a significant spend over the last six years. In 2014 @ 123,860, the gearbox failed and was replaced with a unit from a lower mileage car also with a brand new genuine Audi clutch kit fitted. Other associated parts were also replaced at this time such as selector linkages to reduce any unwanted movement. In early 2016 @ 125,888, the vehicle benefitted from brand new genuine Audi rear shocks, rear springs, oil cooler and oil lines, whilst at the same time having OEM front drop links, Upper control arms fitted. During this visit performance upgrades such as EBC yellow pads were fitted front and rear along with HEL braided brake lines. In July 2016 @ 126,963, the Cambelt, Water pump, thermostat, v-belt and rocker cover gaskets were all replaced by a local Audi specialist. Also fitted to this example are H&R adjustable anti roll bars front and rear, AWE Drivetrain stabiliser and forge diverter valves.
The full exhaust system was upgraded with a custom system from a local exhaust specialist, with downpipes upgraded to a 3” decat design and the rear silencer tips coated ceramic black. The original catalyst converters are still available and can be supplied with the car. After a period off of the road, from December 2017 until mot'd again in 2019, the car was in dry storage due to a lack of use. In August 2019 the car was prepared for its return to the road and during the inspection, it was noted that the rocker cover gaskets fitted in 2016 had begun to fail. These were replaced again (genuine Audi Parts) along with a check of the camshafts which are in good condition. The suspension components also received a full inspection and were given a clean bill of health ahead of the MOT in October.
There are receipts and invoices dating back as far as 2007 giving this Rs4 comprehensive history. To be added to this is a receipt for a new Yuasa battery (with 5yr warranty) which was fitted a few months ago. I am very reluctant to be selling this car as it has been cherished and enjoyed during my ownership – so many good memories in this car. I have taken over 100 photos which can be made available and I am happy to arrange viewings for serious buyers only – not interested in tyre kickers or test pilots. These are very niche and finding good examples is becoming more difficult. Currently on a private plate which will not come with the vehicle.
