Jaguar XK150 3.4
As the Heritage Certificate suggests, this car was delivered new to a Mr Rattenbury by Henleys London with the original registration number '150 LPE'. This was changed at a later date and the XK is now presented with the very desirable registration number 'XK150 1'. Within the extensive service record there is an article in Jaguar Driver where the Area 7 Chairman Bob Beecham came very close to purchasing this XK 150's number plate. He hoped to 'distort' the last digit to read XK 150S! Anyway, I digress but what a great plate for this car and luckily for whoever is interested, it is available by separate negotiation. Being one of only 662 XK 150 Drophead Coupes, this example is one of the rare special equipment, manual overdrive versions in original RHD specification. Fully restored and residing in a collection in Switzerland until purchased by a gentleman in 2012 (paperwork included). There is multiple correspondence with the car including emails from Quentin Wilson stating would a good and sensible buy the car was! Finished in gleaming red with a superb very lightly patinated red leather interior and carpeting, this XK150 is equipped with a magnificent polished wooden dashboard made professionally by marquee specialists. The car sits on chrome wire wheels and is equipped with a black hood in mohair and double duck. The XK has seen some sensible upgrades recommended by the Jaguar owners club, a Kenlow fan was fitted as well as a Tremec five speed gearbox for ease of long distance touring (original comes with the car). Regularly used during the summer months the XK has taken part in many club meets throughout the UK and Europe and won the NVTVC Trophy in 2016. Offered with an extensive history file (x2) including many previous Mots, a Heritage certificate, manuals/diagrams and multiple invoices of maintenance work carried out. Very average examples sell for over 100,000 at auction and this is way above that - come and have a look!
