EQUIPMENT
Chiltern Green Metallic paintwork, Two-tone Charcoal and Parchment leather upholstery, Electric folding soft-top in black, 6-Speed manual gearbox, BBR-GTI engine power upgrade to 547hp, Sports exhaust with big bore tailpipes, DB7 GT alloy wheels, Red brake calipers, Wire mesh front grilles, Heated and electrically-adjustable front seats, Electric folding door mirrors, Fire extinguisher, MPH speedometer, Engine start button, Soft-top cover in Parchment leather, Removable wind deflector, Aston Martin carpet mats, Analogue dash clock, Lockable centre console storage, Spare key.
EXTERIOR
This special V12 Volante presents immaculately in Aston’s quintessential Chiltern Green Metallic, the car having driven only 20k miles in the hands of just two keepers from new. The paintwork retains a lustrous sheen throughout and is free from any unsightly marks or scratches. The electric folding hood is also pristine and can be neatly stowed beneath the Parchment leather tonneaux cover when lowered. At the front end of the DB7 there’s hardly a stone chip in sight, with both headlamp covers still perfectly clear. The factory spec’d wire mesh front grilles give a more modern feel whilst also bringing the car’s aesthetic more inline with that of the Vantage GT. Better still, this particular Volante is also equipped with the GT-specific five-spoke alloy wheels.
INTERIOR
Aston Martin has always stood for exceptional levels of craftsmanship and, true to form, the Vantage’s cabin is a feast for the senses. The two-tone Parchment/Charcoal upholstery is a perfect complement to the Chiltern Green exterior and is further contrasted by lashings of glossy walnut across the dash, door cards, and centre console. Supple, unblemished leather extends from the seats to almost every other surface for a truly exquisite finish. The front seats are heated and electrically-adjustable for optimal comfort, both remarkably unworn and free from any sun damage. There is no marking to any of the switchgear or adjacent trim, and commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob still retain a lovely textured feel.
ENGINE
The DB7’s naturally aspirated V12 was a veritable tour de force when it landed on the scene in 1999. With a factory output of 420hp and a zero-to-sixty time of under five seconds the manual Vantage was no slouch, but even those figures left the first owner of this car demanding more. And so in July 2004, at just 15 months old, the DB7 was sent to renowned tuning specialist BBR-GTI for a ‘no expense spared’ reworking of the 5.9-litre V12. £31k later work on the DB7 was complete, the car now boasting an incredible 547hp!
With its monstrous V12, manual gearbox, and factory spec’d sports exhaust, this particular Aston offers an incredible top-down driving experience with arguably one of the best soundtracks available.
WHEELS
The Volante sits on upgraded Vantage GT alloy wheels in perfect condition all round. They are shod in a matching set of Bridgestone tyres with plenty of tread remaining at each corner. Brake-wise, the factory-spec’d red calipers also appear in excellent condition, operating well on test with grooved discs front and rear for enhanced performance.
HISTORY FILE
This special DB7 Volante was first registered in March 2003. It was ordered through, and subsequently imported into the UK brand new, by Jaguar-Danmark A/S. With all taxes paid on arrival, the car was then received by its first owner who would enjoy it for the next 12 years. It was purchased by the current keeper through Chiltern Aston Centre in 2015 and has been part of his large private collection ever since.
The DB7 has been maintained at close mileage intervals with services carried out at the following mileages: 4,426 – 10,962 – 16,217 – 18,644 – 19,515 – 20,225 – and lastly at 20,269 miles. For the last five years the car has been carefully stored to preserve its low mileage, but what really sets this example apart from the rest is the extensive engine work carried out by BBR-GTI in 2004. The accompanying invoice details how the previous owner spent an eye-watering £31k with BBR “evolving more power” from the factory V12. The end result was a staggering 547hp from the very same 5.9-litre powerplant.
This low mileage and rather special example offers a rare opportunity to purchase a collector-quality DB7 with excellent provenance and truly unique specification - not to be missed!
