BMW 3 SERIES 325I SE MANUAL. PRISTINE. UNMODIFIED.
I bought this immaculate 1991 325i SE two years ago to keep for the long term and am only very reluctantly selling because the garage I was storing it in is soon to be sold and I’m no longer live in the UK. The car is simply too good to be left on a driveway.
I spent a long time looking for a quality example and it is very rare to find a manual in such original condition without any modifications. Everything is original on this car, from the 14" cross spoke alloys and BMW etched glass all round, to the Blaupunkt stereo and speakers. Even the original dealer key rings and number plates are still present.
This is a genuine sale of a rare, quality, unmodified car which will continue to appreciate in value.
Lots of information below and am happy to answer any questions on points I have not covered. I also can provide further photos if needed. However, please only contact me if you are a genuine buyer.
The paintwork is Diamond Schwarz Metallic (effectively gun metal grey) and is immaculate – no car park dings or dents. The car has clearly been garaged for the majority, if not all, of its life and shows no rust in the usual problem areas (windscreen pillars, arches, base of doors).
The previous owner had the car professionally resprayed from the window pillars down (at significant cost) due to a scratched panel, they really have done a fantastic job. The paint polishes up beautifully and looks like new, as you can see from the pictures. Whilst the paint was being done, the windscreen was removed and the base of the pillars checked for rust.
One of the earlier owners also had the chassis full undersealed (wax coated) for added rust protection. The usual underside corrosion has since been remedied in its latest MOT (29.09.20).
As an SE, the car benefits from a better quality, velour seat fabric than the standard E30 which is also in stunning condition (no rips, tears or stains, the back seats look as though they’ve never been sat in) with all original over mats present.
The car also benefits from a full spec with all the electrics working (4x windows, wing mirrors, sun roof, trip computer) and the original tool kit, torch and fire extinguisher are all present. The car also has an aftermarket immobiliser for added security.
Selling with a full 12 month’s MOT.
The car has the 171bhp six cylinder 2.5ltr engine which is the same as in the 2 door sport coupe. It is an extremely smooth and powerful engine.
The car drives as well as it looks and the only advisories on previous MOTs were worn rear tyres and a slight air leak from the middle exhaust box. The car now comes with four brand new tires, a new full stainless steel exhaust (faithfully custom built to replace the original, but with a little more grunt. It sounds devine).
The previous owner had the car assessed in May 2017 by an independent BMW specialist and asked them to complete a full service and take any preventative action they thought appropriate to ensure the car was mechanically superb. This included a replacement of cambelt, clutch master and slave cylinders, distributor cap and rotor arm, rear drop links and bushes, rear brake pads and sensor, a full overhaul of the cooling system, replacement rear trailing arms and front fuel pipes. Invoice for all this work (£1,460) is included.
During my ownership, I have restored all four alloys and replaced the centre caps, steering rack, laser wheel alignment, thermostat and housing, clutch screw cap, sump pan and gasket, oil filter, new battery and two new BMW badges for good measure. The car is currently garaged and on a trickle charger to keep the battery at optimal health. My dad takes it out a couple of times a month to keep it ticking over.
I have a folder of invoices and the service book (main BMW dealer through to 70k miles) which includes the invoice from the sale of the vehicle by BMW Peterborough in 1996 and all the paper tax discs.
MOT certificates are present to validate the mileage and all the original manuals, including the Haynes manual. I also have a copy of the full HPI check that was carried out when I bought the car which shows no issues. All invoices for the aforementioned work are present.
Socially distanced viewings encourage. First to see will buy.
