778 PKO is a fine example of a Jaguar Mark 2 3.4 litre. Having had no expense spared on upgrades and parts over its lifetime, the car presents the opportunity to acquire a Mark 2 in exceptional running order.
Chassis No. 155645 DN rolled off the production line on the 29th May 1961 finished in a stunning Cotswold blue with grey interior, a combination that works perfectly together. First distributed to Henleyโs London, the car was sold to its first owner a Mr J.R. Watkins of Tunbridge Wells.
A matching numbers Mark 2 known very well by the CMC team, 778 PKO has been subject to a careful programme of continuous maintenance during its current ownership. These include power steering, central locking system and new engine mountings to list just a few. Mechanically, the cars gearbox, engine and carburettors have all been dismantled, inspected and overhauled before reassembling. Ultimately, this car has had a second to none upgrade history whether it be trim, paint, electrical or body work it's been done. This particular car also has Coombs rear arches.
It's worth noting that 778 PKOs paintwork is in excellent order. As well as this the car boasts impeccable interior trim and woodwork. As for the driving experience, we believe that its one of the best Mark 2s we have ever driven. A true drivers car! Originally manual overdrive, the car now benefits from a modern full synchromesh 5-speed gearbox which retains all the advantages of overdrive together with the improved gearshift characteristics of a modern transmission.
This particular car also benefits from perfect history with receipts dating back to 1967. Accompanied by a JDHT Heritage certificate outlining Chassis, gearbox and engine numbers.
