here we have ford escort rs turbo 1st bulit in feb 1985 and registered on the 20th may 1985 sold to the 1st keeper by thomas motors limted of cleveleys , the 2nd owner acquired the car from thomas motors limted, of blackpool on 11 august 1988 i then acquired the car on 28 september 2010 from the wife of the 2nd owner
the car had been parked up since early 2004 in a dry secure garage due to ill health by the owner this is when i acquired the car after looking at over 20+ cars from all over the uk ony to find this 1 within 10 mins of where i live.
i then spent 6 months going over the car giving it a full service including timing belt and water pump kit air filter fuel filter spark plugs ht leads distributor cap rotor arm oil filter and oil all breaks where checked and fluid changed it was then taken to motorsport developments for a full engine management setup.
on the 6th april 2011 the car was moted and passed 1st time the car also had 5 brand new tyres fitted. over the next few moths i replaced the oil and filter twice as well as fitting new fuel pump and 4 new injectors and a new fuel tank
over the next cpl of years i used the cars on nice days attending a few local classic car shows replacing bits as and when required the car had an oil and filter changes after every mot carried out by my self.
in late 2013 i decide to remove the engine to tidy up the engine bay the batter tray was found to have slight rust so was removed and replaced with a removable tray so that you can clean and inspect it with ease i then decide to remove all suspension and every thing from the under side i placed the car on a spit and the car was inspect and found to be be in excellent condition only requiring 1 small piece of welding in the outer sill over the next year a striped back and refurbished or replaced any thing that needed to be all of the under side has been striped back and re painted with etch primer then Rust Inhibiting Grey Primer Zinc seam sealed then 3M Two Part Sprayable Sealer 20bags all spary painted in diamond white with the black applied in the right areas.
the car was then sent to a body shop who painted the full kit both bumpers bumper trims the rear valance front panel and drivers side wing the car was then returned to me i refitted the kit to the car and was left for 8 months while i had a new garage built i then spent months reassembling the car final getting it back on the road on 26 July 2018.
on 30th august 2018 the car was taken back to motorsport developments and checked over again and was also rolling roaded resulting in a 131bhp at 6.5psi since then i have used the car on nice days taking it to local classic car shows and just enjoying it i have the original sevrice book stamp at local ford garages receipts for all works carrid out in my ownership and parts i have bought and fitted i have mots and sorn letters for when the car was off the road i also have pictures of all the work carrid out to the under side.
