Chevrolet Lumina V8 Touring Car
Here we have for sale a 2005 Chevrolet CSV lumina v8 super touring car! In white with decals removed! This is in full working order and almost ready to race! Built to FIA spec.
So you ask what is a Chevrolet lumina? It’s a rebadged Holden commodore, or as they are known in this country a Vauxhall Vxr-8 the saloon version of the mighty Monaro! However this is a left hand drive version but could easily be converted if you wished.
This car would make an awesome track day toy as it is or with a little work could be a very competitive race car. Ideal for circuit racing, sprints, hill climbs or even a drift car or a drag racer!
To get it up to date would require new harnesses and a new seat as these are out of date, the fire extinguisher servicing, a bit of roll cage padding and new cut off cables as these are seized. With these few things done a race log book would then be easily obtainable as it was an FIA spec race car.
I had originally intended to develop this into a competition drift car, although the car is perfectly useable as is. There are some dents and knocks but no major damage and a few dings in the roof where a shelf fell on it! Body shell is very solid, having never seen any salted roads,etc. There are a few minor scrapes and dings, but all are superficial and where vinyl has pulled the paint off the bumper easily repairable or cover with vinyl/graphics. At the end of the day this is a race car not a show car!
Engine runs perfectly and pulls smoothly in every gear no smoke, rattles or overheating issues. Clutch has a good bite and does not slip, gearbox and differential work exactly as the should do and selects gear without a fight or a moan!
So what can I say about this awesome machine?
These cars were based on Holden hsv Commodores vy. And are essentially identical cars except they are left hand drive. These particular cars were built to compete in a one make manufacturer series in the Middle East. They competed in 2007-2008 before being replaced by the vz model.
These cars were then imported and have been used as racing school cars so had dual controls fitted (now removed) but are still in full race trim. They were used fairly lightly around rockingham mainly.

In parts alone there are thousands of pounds worth.
Reason for sale? Work has taken over my life unfortunately, therefore after 4 years of ownership it's time to let her go.
Car is located in Rushden, Northamptonshire and viewing is welcome/recommended. Test drives not available as car is not uk registered and is a race car although lights etc. still work!
