Lagonda LG45 to Rapide Spec.
A true gentleman’s sportscar, the Lagonda LG45 is a formidable machine and competent rally entrant. Our car, sporting Rapide Specification coachwork courtesy of Barry Simpson Restoration, Devon, and created c1993, is a very handsome example of the marque.
A proven veteran of several recent rallies, including more than one Flying Scotsman and Alpine Trial, we can highly commend this motorcar for similar service in future years.
‘PSY 918’ was completed by Barry Simpson Restoration of Devon in 1993 and is an original LG45 Sanction 3, converted to Rapide Specification and sporting original type Meadows 4.5 litre 6-cylinder engine, itself rebuilt as part of the painstaking restoration in 1986-1993, and rebuilt again by Steven James Engineering & KV Engineering of Norfolk as recently as 2015. This is fully documented and photographed. Further, and as recently as Spring 2018, the G9 gearbox was also once more rebuilt to a high standard By Neve Engineering of East Sussex at a cost of more than £10,000, and is considered so fresh, its technically still running-in.
The success that has been enjoyed on countless miles of competitive road-rallying in the hands of its owner is testament to the usability, durability and quality of this impressive Lagonda.
We highly commend this Lagonda as the perfect motorcar to any would-be Pre-War rally entrant. Call us to discuss further….
