Volkswagen KARMANN GHIA 1500, restored condition
What happens when Volkswagen and Ghia join hands? Quite right: coach builder Karmann receives an order to build the drop dead gorgeous Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé! Our model is a fully restored 1970’s car. The car has undergone a full body-off restoration. The bodywork is therefor pristine! The nice and thin panelwork is correctly aligned. During the restoration the bodywork was expertly re-sprayed in a high quality Olympic Blue finish that has remained completely untarnished. The brightwork is very neat and perfectly joins onto the bodywork. The wheels have also been re-sprayed and given the correct chromed hubcaps. The interior trim has been completely reupholstered and is as good as new. The fine carpets are fitted seamlessly. The new blue vinyl seat upholstery forms a lovely contrast to the vivid blue exterior finish. The dashboard has artificial wooden detailing and looks a treat. The door cards also have the same colour as the seating. Mechanically the car has been very well maintained. It has four new tyres and complete new brakes have been fitted. During the restoration of the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé the opportunity arose to replace the shock breakers. The engine and gearbox are in good shape, adding to the pleasure to be had in this ageless coupé. It shouldn’t be viewed as anything other than an advantage that this is “just” a simple Volkswagen. If it were adorned with an Italian badge the car would have costa heck of a lot more. The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé is probably one of prettiest Volkswagens ever. In our case one could summarise the car as being a turn-key, air-cooled bundle of pleasurable classic motoring!
