Volkswagen Kever 1200 Oval Nut & Bolt restoration
This Volkswagen Beetle 1200 was supplied to its first, Dutch, owner on the 15th January 1957. This made it one of the last “Ovals” to be supplied. Over the last eight years, the car has been owned by two brothers. They subjected the car to a rigorous restoration since buying it in 2012 that was finished in late 2018. The car has been sparingly used since and is therefore practically pristine. During the restoration a number of modifications were incorporated such as a narrower front axle, lowering the suspension and fitting larger rimes. The car was taken apart right down to the very last screw with literally everything being either treated or upgraded. The floor pan was taken back to bare metal and resprayed with even the frames of the seats meticulously restored before being reassembled with a new filling and covering. The bodywork is, as you can imagine, in perfect condition. The panelwork is nicely thin and correctly aligned. The beige paintwork has been expertly applied and remains completely unblemished. Mechanically the same amount of dedication was expended as on the ex and interior. Everything has been replaced. This Beetle drives like no other and is gorgeous classic to tour with. The car comes with a full file of all the work done during the restoration and rebuild including photographs and invoices. A wonderfully restored “Oval” Volkswagen Beetle in brilliant condition!
