tvr tuscan red rose , restored
It is with a heavy heart i have decided to put my red rose tuscan up for sale after 10 years of ownership. As you may be able to tell this has been owned by a real enthusiast and selling this is something which has made me nervous but i really want another car and simply cant keep two cars like this so here goes. I just hope i don't live to regret it but i have now made my mind up.
I am not sure if you will find many tuscans which have been restored to this level. The spec is amazing and the drive experience is nothing like a 'normal' tvr tuscan experience. The handling is simply amazing having been set up by center gravity the suspension gurus after an extensive chassis restoration last year (see below).
Not only has it had the required powers rebuild it has also been resprayed and re trimmed, the suspension has been totally sorted with every bush being new, newly rebuilt gaz mono shocks (not to be confused with gaz golds) among much more listed below, the chassis is also in excellent condition.
I have a huge file (around 25-30k worth) dating back several years showing work done and a full service history including:
Tvr power rebuild with new block 11k ago (no longer under warranty but dom at power will warranty this for £1000 i believe). It is very very quiet!
it has a lightweight flywheel and race proved slave cylinder. Very very free revving and is a superb engine which is run in beautifully now. Dom had the car last year (3-400 miles ago) and did a 12k low miles service and i wanted him to check the engine over to confirm it is all still ok, which it was.
Resprayed, re trimmed and new carpets in 2012, (covered 11k since) i have a full album showing every stage of the respray available to view and for you to keep.
Lamborghini Balloon pearl white respray with black accents.
Re trimmed in alcantara and leather, really looks beautiful and with the exterior looks so much more up to date than the frankly bizaree colour combinations of years gone by.
Red rose edition : which means bigger brakes, bigger exhaust bore, more power.
air con, fully working after a new rad and dryer last year.
chassis, this is the best bit by far, the car drives incredibly tightly and is now very supple and drives down b roads like i think it should, this was all done around 3-400 miles ago last year:
gaz mono shocks, rebuilt last year, these are incredible and nothing like the crashier golds that people usually have, very very progressive shocks.
completely re bushed using tvr parts poly bushes, these are not the rock hard usual bushes but give a very supple ride quality.
new upper and lower ball joints, new track rods and ends, drop links and rose jointed rear drop links.
sagaris steering arms which are to eliminate the bump steer tuscans are famous for. They really do make an enormous difference to the geometry of the rack, meaning the track rods now sit parallel to the lower arms. You wont be getting dragged all over the road any more.
Rota wheels, much stronger and lighter than original with correct offsets. 8.5j fr and 9.5j rear. I do still have the original spiders which will be included with the sale.
michelin pilot super sports, covered 3-400 miles again. 225/40/18 fr and 255/35/18r
The largest thing i did which sounds so minor but was to take the car to center gravity. These guys do nothing but geometry. They spent the best part of a whole day setting everything up, from ride heights to tyre pressures to cambers etc. i have a full log of this for future reference as well so that money is now spent and anywhere with a hunter machine could replicate it.
s front splitter which really made a difference to stability.
new rear discs and new ferrodo ds2500 pads front and rear
half sleeved cans which aren't too loud but really scream on higher rpm
Newer later rear screen with race proved window clips (screen wont come flying out now).
new seals all over when painted in 2012
pioneer sph10 headunit, small rockford amp and 6.5" components. sounds great
personal steering wheel
I genuinely think you will struggle to find a tuscan like this for this money. Yes you can spend more and get a later mk2 or you can spend less but i do know as an enthusiast that you will be in for thousands getting the car to drive like this. These cars are getting old now and all those bits add up.
I have a huge amount of paper work along with a full comprehensive service history.
In my ownership it has been to powers, str8 six and most recently python racing who is fairly new to the tvr world but an excellent specialist.
Whats wrong with the car?
Not a lot really, there are a few very small age related marks over the body, none of which detract from the incredible finish and appearance. It would benefit from being detailed as it hasn't really been polished now for quite some time. I didn't really use the car for 3-4 years as we moved and had kids. It was fully re commissioned last year (as can be seen).
Every thing inside the car actually works (very un tvr like). windows and doors close and open properly, alarm works and actually closes the windows when pressed. heaters and air con work.
The speedo is a little temperamental though, it does work but seems to get stuck at about 90mph where it stays until you re start the car. The digital speedo is fine though and probably more accurate than the analogue one.
I hope you have read all that and appreciate what this car might be like. I am very very nervous to sell this car, i have owned it 10 years this april and have enjoyed owning it and its almost become part of the furniture but i have decided it is time to change and let someone else enjoy this tvr tuscan.
Please go and view some other tuscans first then come and view this! i will take you on a drive and to my discretion and providing you are insured i will let you have a drive.
Please note the current registration will be removed and put back onto its original reg.
